Service Menu for 2023 S580
Does anybody know how? I start with ignition on but not started with the Classic display with total mileage displayed (reset menu), then hold Home button for 10 seconds, and then hold the OK button for 10 seconds, and when released it is suppose to pop up but doesn't. Thanks.

Thanks. The problem I have is when I press OK without first pressing the Home button (and going to the Home screen), a Short Cut message pops up. So on the second push and hold of OK the SC message pops up and no service menu when I release the button. In the video, the SC message does not popup. I've played with the Short Cuts maybe that created the problem and that perhaps needs further action (buttons). The car in the video appears to be new with few miles and probably no tweaking of the Short Cuts.
BY THE WAY, I lost my Drivers Display for 5 days, otherwise the car ran fine even the Cruise Control worked. First I got a low tire pressure in error. Checked the pressure and added a pound or two. The next morning the display was blank, 5 days latter it magically came back. Our place here has only sat. Internet and no cell service, maybe a down load issue. Otherwise I love the car.

Regularly scheduled issue; the tire pressures gets low enough to go into low tire pressure, you will soon get all the rest of the errors. Ignore it long enough, you can get the black screen. The fix is to get the air up to pressure, on the drivers display go to the option all the way on the right and tell it to accept the pressure, then on the next COMPLETE shutdown, the errors will reset and the screen will come back. You must lock it and get the fob out of contact for a complete shutdown. You're probably a prime candidate to get the low battery issues in the future if you don't get the fob further away or bag it.

Crabman, I have taken your advice after a low 12V issue and religiously lock the car and keep the FOB at a safe distance. I haven't had a low battery or other issues since. I didn't know how to recalibrate the tire pressure at the time so I just left car. Next morning blank screen for 5 days and I was thinking it wasn't getting a down load fix (if such exists) because I locked their car (and poor internet service) and thinking that maybe that inhibited any downloads. Otherwise maybe it was a Complete shutdown like you say, because I didn't drive the car for a one full day just before the display came back. Is it possible a Complete shutdown took 24 hours or an Internet issue? When the screen came back the only issue was low tire pressure which I recalibrated immediately. No problems/ errors since, now for 4 days.

Faraday cage or enough distance, gotta have one or the other. I've never seen a (credible) number on the time to complete shutdown. For me a couple hours has worked twice; I had it last fall and again this fall when my pressure dropped off. Could be less, can't say.
Edit: Could also be more time depending on conditions. When I think about it, I've never seen anything describing what constitutes a complete shutdown or even if we truly need a complete shutdown. Some portion of the shutdown triggers a reset on the faults, that you don't reach it with the fob in contact we know, the rest is guess work until it gets fleshed out.

After it went blank the car was garaged and locked for at least 18 hours per day for 3 days and it was still blank. On the 4th and 5th day it was more like 32 hours garaged and locked when it finally came back to life. Again at this house, internet is only available with a satellite and cell service is non-exsistent. My thinking is that MB Internet would be very poor here too (if at all) and further thinking that perhaps it needed MB Internet access to fix the issue and that is why it took so long; that is only having MB internet access when I was out and about driving.

That's what got ya, air in the tires, navigate to the menu and tell it to accept new values, complete shutdown, you're in there.
And yeah, we shouldn't require quite so much study to drive a car but what else can we do? Lol

Doesn't pressing the lock button twice on your key fob to lock your vehicle disable the transmitter feature? I was on vacation earlier this year and was away from my car for almost three weeks. My dealer told me about the key fob hack and said it prevents the beaconing of the car for the key fob (and vice versa) and saves battery life of the key fob (primarily). However, if you do this with the key fob, you will need to press the unlock button on the fob the next time you approach the car because the doorhandles will not automatically deploy as the beaconing isn't active.

It's more of a hassle than just dropping the keys in a bag/box on the way in/out. Search Amazon for Faraday bag and you'll get many results; one of them is probably suitable. We already had one because this isn't the first car we've had with fob contact problems.
