I keep thinking about these doors that are so detestable. And. as Crabman said, you know good and well the MB testers of the vehicle experienced their aggravating features of closing on your leg and wide reach to close. I’m wondering if MB originally had designs for electric doors but stumbled prior to release? I remember seeing a presentation by MerzbencKing where the young man with coat and tie demonstrated a 223 with the electric doors.

I do also think it was designed with electric in mind and I assume the chip shortage didn't help.
