Checked out a new E Class, S Class needs a refresh
So I got to sit in the new E Class, didn't drive one. I gotta say, the E Class materials feel better than those in the S Class. The wood on the console alone vs the piano black makes a huge difference. They also used the new smooth MB Tex for the stitched material on the dash that feels much better and more similar to the napa leather dash in the Exclusive Napa S Class, feels way better than the grained MB Tex. Honestly with that dash material I would not upgrade to exclusive napa. The dash layout with the new landscape screen and the more integrated IP also feels better and more upscale. This was a low option E also with an MSRP of $69k, did have the super screen. Overall build felt better in the new E also. Seats are obviously better in the S, headlining material is better in the S.
Gives me hopes for the refresh S, they will have to step the interior up a notch for sure to put distance between it and the E. This is not feel like a vehicle that was half the cost of the S Class I sat in right after...
