EV Backtracking
The self-preservation instinct of MB finally kicked in. Last week, Mercedes-Benz revealed that it will now delay its goal of becoming an electric vehicle-only brand by 2030. The firm added that it will continue to produce internal combustion-engined cars and hybrids well into the next decade. Hopefully MB cleaned house.

The three stooges have definitely taken over management at MB. Internal combustion engine sales have been going down steadily since 2017. EV sales keep going up, despite a slowing of demand due to macroeconomic forces.
I wish I could say I'm going to miss MB but I'm new to the brand so I really wont.

EVs have their place for some people, just not every place. That is the problem with MB's 2030 all-EV goals. In fact, most people cannot get an EV for lack of convenient charging etc. let alone afford them. If someone finds an EV is better for them that is terrific. But if it is forced to meet climate goals, that is a joke. Until a new affordable continuous source of energy is available (fuel cells etc.) ICE will be the majority product and EVs will only gain more traction by having ICE sanctioned, eliminated, or outlawed, coupled with the government "buy or else" warning. I am not against EVs; I am against the scam. German leaders got sucked into the climate vortex and now they realize what a mess they made, not just at Mercedes but everywhere.
