I don’t recommend lowering. I will try to hold my prejudices aside with regard to my thoughts of how ridiculous it looks and the safety implications and warranty possibilities. Aside from this. I would also not recommend 22” wheels as I would recommend you read all of the comments about the weight of this car on 21” wheels and road conditions associated with damages. I do ride 21” wheels, 5/8” spacers up front and 1/4” spacers in rear 10° steering. No rubbing.

Shopping an e class wagon
Checking in of the OP found a set of wheels? I too am shopping 22 inch wheels along with lowering. Looks like lowering links are the more effective route?

Of course not. I was being facetious. With all the horror stories that have been posted here about W223’s when fitted with 22’s, I was actually wondering if the OP was serious. If so, why not go all the way to 24’s? Or even??? I mean, if you wanna go nuts, LET’S GO NUTS!

Good luck with 22s. With all of the reported issues running factory 21s, I can’t imagine the endless blowouts with even larger wheels and thinner sidewalls. Get tire and wheel insurance.

Also, I fully understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but those 24s look god awful and cheap to me.
