Starter Battery
Have a new 2024 S Class and received an email notice from them as follows and not sure why. Car is a week old? Any ideas?
"Dear Mr. xxxxx,
The starter battery charge status of the vehicle W1Kxxxxxxxxx is very low. To ensure that the vehicle is able to start, please drive the vehicle for 30 to 60 minutes or connect a battery charger. When using the battery charger, please observe the notes in Owner's Manual in your vehicle.
Best regards, Mercedes me connect"

You get the warning because the battery is not properly charged. Perhaps the battery was not fully charged when the car was delivered or you have "misused" it, easy to run the battery flat in a week. More likely you have not driven the car enough, not only short start/stop trips. Just charge the battery or drive longer as suggested.

I would place your keys in faraday bags as soon as you get home. Someone mentioned that the car won’t fully go to sleep if it senses the key nearby and I know from personal experience that range is long.

I got that message and charged the battery. I then called my dealer and they told me there was a bulletin about this. Apparently there is a software update to fix certain things in the car staying on longer than it should after shutting off. If you aren't taking long enough trips to fully charge battery after running it down eventually the battery level gets low enough to get this message. After they performed the software update I haven't had this message again. Took about and hour or so.

if your key is nearby, click the lock twice and that stops communication between car and key thus not using battery power in the meantime. You will hear the horn honk twice to confirm.
I also use a trickle charger when I know I'm not going to use the car for a few days, such as out of town.
