Driver's side overhead reading light comes on whenever I reach for the garage door opener, DESPITE deactivating the hands free/gesture feature. Local MB concierge adviser unable to remedy. Help, please.

Do you have a garage door opener clipped to your visor or do did you program the buttons on the bottom of the rearview mirror? I ask because I use the buttons on the bottom of the mirror and the assistant light doesn't come on for me. If you haven't programmed the buttons, it only takes a minute. If you use a garage door opener, can you use the programmable buttons instead?
