Assyst Plus Service Code(s)

OK...I'm a little confused on these Assyst Plus service reminder codes. I completely understand the A, B service codes and what needs to be done. But what does the number mean after the letter? I currently have a 2021 S580 approaching 30,000 miles and it indicates the next service is a B9 service. What does the 9 mean? Also, it's out of sync. The B service was already done at 20,000 miles. Can this be updated and re-synced?

The 9 usually mean 9 other items, this is a 2017 manual but it is a general idea: https://www.mercedes-benz.ca/content..._Ed_B__ENG.pdf

So A9 means all items included in a typical A service plus the 9 additional items.

starts with A1 then B2 then A3 just a COUNT is all.

A service is the same every time as is a B.

Now at some mileage intervals other things required but that is mileage based
Example would be spark plugs.

So the number is just a basic count of the services done and sometimes list a few extra things to be done NOT the TOAL EXTRA Things to be done.
Read service book for your car. If not available there I am sur someone has posted online before or ask dealer.
OR maybe you got one with owner's manual in cr.

Sorry I stand corrected and from the PDF I linked earlier, it will say A9 for example is the service 9 and it lists what additional work is required.

Why does mine then say 210 days to an A4 service. This would be the third service for this car.

That's a good question @Diesel Benz . I would think you should be coming up on an A2 service?? I've had my first A service last year, and then my first B service this year. I have another service due in 4K miles, but the MercedesMe app doesn't tell me the service number that will be due. I'll be interested in the outcome for you, as I'm in the same boat.

I asked Google Gemini to create a table; not sure how accurate this info is. Are you coming up on 40K miles?

That doesn't look right, it should not go from Service A back to Service A (or specifically A4), it has to go to B first.

Information about the Service A and B progression, the workshop codes and service numbers seem to be carefully guarded secrets by MB, as are scheduled maintenance items (the last maintenance guide I can find is from 2016). When you see "Service B3 Overdue" pop-up on your instrument panel, first you're supposed to panic and pee your pants, then rush to your dealer's service department, believe whatever they tell you and pay whatever they ask to make the message go away. How can you not love a car company that puts dealer profit ahead of owners rights to maintain their cars?

Yes, A2 would sound right.

I've just reached 5000 miles (totally, not from previous service). I need to check from the car first of all that it still reads A4 and then check again closer to service time if it has changed. Still less days from previous service than the next one.

I found a WIS/ASRA document for my G550 that describes services A and B, service number codes, and the service intervals for gearbox fluids, filters and sparkplugs. I'm posting it on the W463A forum. Similar documents should exist for other models.
