Smile 26’ Facelift W223 Confirmed With MBUX Hyperscreen and new steering wheel

The new 2026 W223 Confirmed With MBUX Hyperscreen and new steering… Looks very similar to the E-class setup. I can see new metallic physical buttons on the steering wheel too.

Overall, this are very exciting upgrades and great improvements!

It doesn’t look like all of the buttons are real, with most them still being the lame haptic touchscreen buttons. It would be immeasurably better if they just got rid of all of those buttons and put in real buttons for everything.

The positive thing is I finally see wood in the centre console like the W214.

I don't think that's the wheel; they were specific in saying the wheel would return to physical buttons.

But like I said in my original post, there are physical buttons already (zoom in and you will see two on each side). I think this is it. Frankly, that's enough. Two on each side for the most critical functions. Much better than all capacitive touch. Plus, maybe the entire piano black areas are also physical (click) buttons. But obviously this seems like the final design. I've seen similar one in spy shorts for the GLE too.

I personally like the hyperscreen because it looks very integrated, but I wonder if it will be offered as an option like the E class and come standard with the surface-mounted tablet, which still looks better than the current ski jump screen.

Possible, but it may also just be a modified wheel from the current car, it is, after all, an engineering mule. Steering wheels are among the most expensive parts to design and develop in the interior, and new wheels are often the last major component to find their way into engineering mules.

They also said they were losing a lot of piano black, which was unpopular, notice the center console in that regard.

While I think you may be right, I'm certain I hope you're wrong.

I hope there will still be some wood on the dash, personally...I do see wood on the console!

The wheel is the same wheel, only the button pods are updated.

Just to clarify: that screen setup is called supercreen not hyperscreen. Also - looks like thr row of buttons under the screen may be changing for the better? Heck yeah!

Ya that looks like metal to me or maybe metal painted plastic, either way, actual buttons so that is nice, the most right one is the volume control right?

Yes it is : ) Here is a closer look and higher resolution. Overall, it's even better than the E-class buttons with this setup.
They are clearly physical buttons which you can push up/down. Same for the two physical buttons on the steering wheel

It looks like it's just a redesign of the capactive button bar in the existing model with the hazard light as a physical button in the middle. Instead of black though, it's silver and applied into the dash design a lot better.

Well there may be some hope for this model yet. The remaining question is binnacle or no binnacle. But then again there are the new lights.

Everyone hated the taillights and headlights on the W223 when if was first released, however, unlike the 7-series it didn't take long before we got used to it. To me, the W223 has the best looking rear design now in its segment. Front fascia is boring but not ugly. Same for the facelift; I'd wait until it's fully revealed, wait some time and judge it then.

There won’t be a binnacle. Like it or not binnacles are out.
