75K W223 well optioned 155K MSRP- new owner here?

Was wondering if this new owner of this really beautifully spec'd W223 is on this forum?
75K USD only for this 25K miles W223 with 4D Burmester and with E-ABC, RWS, AR 3D HUD and 155K MSRP......... Wow, just wow. What a great deal (50% depreciation or half the MSRP........) yet for a car that has almost all possible driver's options.

I was watching the last few minutes Congrats on a great buy!!! I would have participated in the bid if I don't already have a new-to-me sedan that I love more right now. But, this is the way to go with the W223. About 1.5 years ago, I sold my 2018 with nearly 40K miles for almost 64K USD. Can't believe you can get a fully loaded W223 for 75K today (Update: note that there is a minor accident history). Still a great buy and congrats to the new owner (hope to see u around).

I'm going to be that Debbie Downer poster - I hope it's nobody here. That Carfax has all the red flags you want to avoid. And I don't mean the minor bumper damage.

The 4 owners reported since it sold in Dec 2021 is sub-optimal.

But the recent service visits at Stevens Creek MB (San Jose, CA) is the telltale of "annoying problem that makes this car not good." They brought it in 4 times from Dec 2023 to Nov 2024... then finally got rid of the car on C&B. A gremlin is still haunting that S580.

Yeah if the Carfax shows all of that I would agree, the accident alone explains the low cost. Did you notice that basically the whole side was repainted?

The car has 2 "real" owners, not 4, I see the CarFax records but in 3 of my last 10 cars, CarFax reported me as TWO owners each time I paid off the car and took possession of the title during my ownership. Owner 1 in the carfax is the 1st owner. 2nd owner appears the same as 1st owner or to be a dealer who owned it for a few weeks. Owner 3 and 4 are the same owner who sold it on C&B by tracking history and dates.

I agree about the minor accident report on Carfax - that should impact the value, but still 75K for a car like is a GREAT deal. Well optioned W223s like this and with this mileage are closer to 90K. You can easily get one for 80K but not with these options.

As for the service history from Dec 2023 to Dec 2024, I actually disagree. Two of these 4 appears to be the 1-year annual oil change service. then there is one for new tires, and that leaves one of these four which from what I can tell is for brake pads. As for the (electrical system checked, etc), every single regular visit I made to my Mbenz dealer with my last two W222s showed up as a ton random items like these when I looked at carfax and sold them.

I mean it is not the best, cleanest and greatest W223 on the market, but I don't see serious red-flags. I still would have considered it for low 70s if* I was shopping for a W223.

The fender, wheel, mirror, headlight and door isn't a "minor" accident IMO. Thats a deal killer for most buyer for a car like that, thats why its so cheap.

The point is, at half of its original MSRP (HALF), that's a great value for the money. whoever bought this car, congrats, I think he made a great purchase. Not for everyone (not even for me), I get that, but for the price, offered buyer made a good deal. It's hard to even get an EQS580 with a car accident without hitting the 60s..... 75K for a car like that (with that spec) isn't bad at all.

Keep in mind that the cost of the car on Cars & Bids was about 80k with the 4.5% buyers fee and shipping (if it wasn’t a local sale). Typically, cars with lots of options depreciate more than low optioned cars. I still think it was a great deal, especially for a buyer who valued the options. I love my 2023 S580 that I bought new and I don’t regret it, since I know who drove it since day one, I spec’d it exactly how I wanted it, and I plan to keep it 10+ years.

I’ve been following W222 and W223 cars on Carmax for months now. Strangely they seem to have so many 3-4 owner cars with collisions. I have purchased several cars from CarMax (Maxcare is amazing) and do not remember ever seeing such consistency with high owners and accident rate.

Accident history is a killer for used car valuations which is why I would never consider buying one. You have no idea what the market will pay you for it should you want to get rid of it. I agree on the steller color combo though.

Wheels and tires do not match the build sheet. Wrecked. I am suprised they got that much for it. I do not see it as a "deal". I bought mine (no accident history) with 4700 miles on it for $50k under sticker and I don't think it was a "deal"

He mentioned the drivers front wheel was replaced in the accident, likely he just bought a full set of wheels he liked better.

Or possibly to elimate tire blowouts the 21" seem to have. He mentioned no chip shortage options missing beyond the sunscreens. I did not see the credit in the build sheet. I wonder what else is missing. Most that year are missing the air fragrance and the "kick to open" under the trunk.

If you read the comments in that listing, I think he said he was sick and tired of having to keep replacing the 21s at the dealership and swap it with another owner with the 20s.

There is a reason it’s so cheap. Wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. Carfax history gives you a lot of data and also doesn’t tell you everything. You have to sort of fill in the blanks. Even though it has an extended warranty unless you want drama and love visiting the dealership, avoid avoid avoid IMHO!!

With cars like these, a PPI is definitely worthwhile.
