When I was considering the CLE 53 AMG my detailer recommended PPF on the entire car. On the S580 he recommended PPF only on the impact areas(hood, fenders and front) then ceramic coat over everything. On the CLE the cost of the matte paint plus full PPF came to 10% of the purchase price of the car. I could not justify the added expense on a car of that price. The cost of the service on the S580 was less than half of the cost to PPF the CLE.

Matte paint offers a unique and stunning finish, but it does require a bit more care compared to traditional glossy paint. The most important thing is to avoid any waxes or polishes that are designed for glossy finishes, as these can leave streaks or alter the finish. Instead, use specialized matte paint cleaners and sealants that are designed to preserve the satin-like finish without causing shine. Lastly, if you want to keep your matte paint looking as good as new, applying a matte-specific ceramic coating can help protect the surface from contaminants and make future cleaning much easier.
