What's got me puzzled is if Max can code it into pre-2024s, then the hardware must be there for our cars - so one must wonder why Mercedes is only enabling on later models? Hmm

the ones we both have, has either me or you getting it about a month apart from each other……..
so who knows how they deploy, and decide who gets…..

I keep getting, the update can be installed at the end of your journey but once I get home, it still won't let me update. I clicked on more information, then it says, it could be battery level issues and will notify if there's any other issues preventing it from updating. The update has been downloaded but it won't let me install it.

Updates vs upgrades
It appears that if it came from the factory with it when purchased then that is all they are repsonsible for. Same as the ILS not being enabled by MB updates even though the 2022 NHTSA ruling now allows it and many MB cars have the hardware and software (but not enabled)

So I’m posting this from my car in bumper to bumper traffic, this new update has done away with ANY need to touch the steering wheel on bumper to bumper traffic. I haven’t touched the steering wheel in over 25 minutes. Awesome.

I doubt it, too. But I found some time ago that you can tap the bottom of the steering wheel with the top of your leg every minute or so and stay quasi-handsfree for miles and miles. I get into a rhythm of doing this maneuver and can relax for most of a long road trip.
