What a waste of engineering money. Maybe they should spend money on removing plastic coolant parts and valve covers and spray in liners from their throwaway engines. Or maybe the could figure out their emissions systems so they dont blow out rear main seals and valve cover gaskets. Maybe they could add port injection to keep their valves clean. Maybe they could create reluctor rings that dont spin on camshafts, or door handles that are not a safety issue. How about some new paint colors, or figuring out how to match the bumpers with the rest of the car? If the AI is written by the same illiterate 20 year old morons that program current AI, we know they likely dont even know how to drive a car or have a proper conversation. Considering they also dont understand spelling or punctuation and like to speak as fast as they can for three second bursts, I can only imagine that this tech will be absolutely terrible. The people sucked into this way of life deserve everything coming to them. They can continue to be isolationists that can only live in one spectrum while having tantrums about having to consider other people. Like Ive said before, more people will drop "Hey Mercedes" for "Bye Mercedes".

Yes totally agree. Can you imagine the multi-million dollar waste of effort all applied to the wrong things because of terrible leadership decisions.
That describes the new CEO who is making the decisions since Dr. Z retired and that is why the designs of the cars since 2020 are crap.
Everything MB produced before 2020 was designed and approved back before Dr. Z retired. IMHO 2020 cars were the last of the true MB superior level of quality that it was known for.
Once MB is able to admit they were wrong (hard to do) they will fire the stupid teenager they hired and get someone from the Engineering Department to move into the CEO position. Hopefully, they can begin to fix this mess they created.

You have no idea what level of sophistication we are able to achieve in system development, trading and investing, biotech and so on, none would be possible without AI.
As far as Mercedes, they're smart enough to switch to software model of building cars from hardware as it is more flexible. The agentic framework they are talking about here, is the future of business as many functions can be outsourced to the AI agents. We're using it in Finance, works wonders.

It was going to happen anyways. The Chinese EV's already have a Google like AI in them so Mercedes is just trying to get ahead of the game to perfect the Car AI as the Chinese are still working on issues related to the AI understand another "mother tongue".
