Sirius radio losing memory

Has anyone seen this issue with their radio? While my 2022 S580 is parked, the Sirius radio loses it memory and the screen resets to "0". It has been at the dealer 2 times and they can not determine why it is doing this. I have several pictures, dates and times to prove what is happening, but so far no explanation. It is heading back to the dealer again this week. The vehicle only has 8000 miles on it and the problem just began in late June. Has anyone seen this issue and found a solution?

Yes, it's a known issue. It's often caused by a software glitch in the MBUX system that makes it reset. A hard reset (hold power button for 30 seconds) sometimes works, but the dealer needs to perform a specific software update to fix it permanently. Push them to escalate it to Mercedes corporate tech support.

This is happening in my 2023 S580 as well. If I'm listening to Sirius when I park, and then return to the car later, the MBUX display says it is on Channel 0 but isn't really. It will be playing the station I was listening to before I parked, it's just the reference on the screen is wrong. I'll be interested to learn which software update "fixes" the glitch.

Thanks Alexie. This explanation makes sense since the issue started when they did a large software update in June. My car will go in for service this week and I will tell them your response.

The hard reset( lots of popping and crackling sounds) worked for me, so far. Thanks Alexie for the advice/suggestion.

Just happened to me after not driving the car for a week. 2025 S580. On engine start the station that was being played was "0" and not one of my Favorites. I clicked on Favorites and nothing was there. Then I clicked on Sirius, then the "list" icon at the bottom of the screen and all my favorites came up. Went back and clicked on Favorites, and there they were. Strange behavior.....

I have had my car at the dealer twice in the past month. They kept the car for several days both times. They maintain that they can't find the problem, even though I have pictures with dates and time each time it happens. They blamed it on Sirius. I contacted Sirius twice and talked to their advanced technical services people. They say it is a software issue in the car. They maintain they have not heard of this happening. They did refresh my radio, but that didn't help any. I am very frustrated. My only option now is to begin the letter and email writing campaign to Mercedes to see if they can help me. I discovered this week that if I leave the screen on radio and the screen goes to 0, the saved stations will come back after a few minutes. If I leave it on the navigation screen and the radio goes to 0, I can I can switch it to the radio screen, but the radio never comes back on. It it definitely a software glitch on Mercedes end. It started when they did the Communication software update in June.

@retiredandhappy - Did you ever get this fixed at the dealer? My car is going in for B Service this Friday, and I'd like to guide them on which software update to apply as my new-to-me car has this issue.

The short answer is no. My car was in the shop 3 times. They kept saying they could not duplicate the problem. I had several pictures to prove it, but that didn't help. They blamed it on Sirius. I called Sirius twice and they guaranteed me that it was a software issue with the car. So, I am just living with it.
If you get it resolved, I would appreciate knowing how they did it. My car only has 8500 miles, but it went out of warranty last week. Even so, I think I can get them to fix it if a solution is identified because I had it in the shop so many times for the same issue.

I agree with you that this isn't a Sirius issue - I called them and they said it was a Mercedes issue. @Alexie seems to know that this is a known issue. I'll ask on Friday.

Go to youtube, search how to save favorites on 223. It worked, when the dealership's attempts failed.
