Got this error this morning while taking a buddy to the airport. When I got to the airport, I turned off the car, opened the driver's door, closed it, and started the car. Error did not reappear on the drive to work. Hopefully this is another glitch in the system and not indicative of a bigger issue. I'm driving to Charleston this weekend and don't want a "real" coolant issue between Atlanta and Charleston.
It was cold at the time, 16 degrees F, but coolant level was fine.
I have had this 4 times in the last 3 weeks. 1 time they bleed the system 2 time replaced both water pumps thermostat 3 time re bleed system and it is in the shop again for the 4th time waiting to hear so I can start the buy back process

I used to get that message in my 2018 E63 quite often. I would take by the dealership and have them top off the coolant. In fact, it was such a known issue they had a bottle of coolant in the service bay for this very purpose. However, if they didn't find that the coolant level was low during your A service, then maybe just a glitch.
Had the same message on my S580 this summer. I stepped into the garage to input Toll Service billing information for a drive to Seattle. The moment the key was sensed by the vehicle there was an enormously loud roar from the radiator fan. I got in and the error message on the screen. Eventually, the radiator fan turned off. The strange thing is the car had been sitting al night in the garage so no reason for the cooling fan to start up.
Dealership where it was purchased said to keep an eye on it. We opted to make a pit stop in Spokane, shout out to the dealership. Their tech tore into it and discovered that one of the antifreeze reservoirs (the vehicle has two) was down by a cup. He gave me instructions for checking both reservoirs should it happen again. It never has.

I was going to post; It is I believe the turbo coolant reservoir located underneath the vanity cover. It happened to me as well.
I got this message last night driving home from dinner. It was about 12 degrees (VERY cold for here). Drive was unaffected, temp was right where it should be. Got home and shut down then got back into it to take my Mom home since she was watching our kids, no message and no issues.
Just got my car back this morning after a week in the shop. They replaced the 48volt battery and flushed the system 3 times. Assured me it was resolved. Put 45 miles on it on the drive home and got the message again. returned it to dealer. I give up but I love the car
