I can't seem to mount my EZ Pass on the windshild of my S580 and get it to function. I have looked in the owner's manual and tried to mount it to the passenger's side of the rear view mirror as instructed. I even stopped at the MB dealer and was told "This is a problem. Try holding the EZ Pass out the window at toll boths." Really???
Can anyone on the forum tell me if they have had success mounting the EZ Pass on the windshild and, if so, exactly where?
Question though: Have you thought about using the car's built-in transponder? It works great and you won't have the EZ Pass stuck to your windshield. https://www.payviam.com/MB
if you use a flash light on the out side of the windshield you will a small 3x4 section that looks diffrent that is the cut out for the transponder or radar also is one at the bottom of the windshield in the center right about the defrosters. this is for car with the RFID protected windshields
As Mark said, payviam would be the best method to use in the S unless yours didn't come with it as an earlier build.
The annual $20 fee is well worth it for not having to have a transponder stuck on the windshield alone.

Apparently EZ Pass states have or will be transitioning to a sticker from the old clunky transponders. I imagine these one-time stickers need to be positioned in the non-RFID location of the windshield to work.
I sent my EZPass back to the authority when I enabled the transponder in my car and never looked back. As most know, I have friends in Tampa and Charleston, and when I travel there, I sail right through (legally) the toll booths in both locations and never give it a thought.
EZ way to Pass through the tolls without the need for EZPass. I know, that was cheesy.
Yeah I really like the built in transponder. I also like how you can set the number of occupants and it will relay the proper charge for HOV lanes, only way to do that with EZPass is to have an even bigger EZPass Flex which we have in the Pacifica
I have it set to 3 and can always say "sorry officer, I forgot to change it back to 1 after my kids were in here!"
