I like the rotating 4D tweeters but don't really want to go through that install, but I miss the metal speaker grilles on the tweeters...I found these online and figured for $30 I would give them a whirl. As with the cupholder trim I am seriously impressed! Real metal, the Burmester script is identical to the other grilles, they don't impact sound quality at all and they look much better than the original plastic grilles IMO.

They stick onto the existing plastic cover with padded tape. You could actually replace the plastic covers with them, they pop out but I don't see any reason to do that.

$16.68, a steal at twice the price!
Seriously it should have come from the factory like this
Those look sharp and the fact they are metal is the nicest touch. I have the 4D Burmeister system in my car and the entire assembly on the A pilar is the flimsiest plastic you're ever seen or felt. Why on earth Mercedes would cut corners on something so obvious and use that crappy plastic baffles me.

Yeah I find of got that sense looking at them, which is really a shame and especially for a very expensive option. Dare I say I actually like these covers better…

Agreed. I think they found the error of their ways; I think I heard them (or Daniel) say they have moved back to metal in the refresh. In my 2018 E63 with the 3D Burmeister, they were metal. Go figure.

They made several very questionable material choices inside the 223, hopefully the refresh solves them. I hear also that the base audio gets metal grilles there in the refresh.
