The DOG for the 2027 MAYBACH came out today, didn't expect it that soon. I think I need to take a look at this before I let my order go too far. I am so close to that price, maybe I need to make the jump?

Still a significant amount of money but it may depend on the package. Do you like to drive the longer car? The Maybach offers two tone paints and other interior differences. I haven’t seen any images of the facelifted Maybach yet.
I would spec out each car and see which one I like better.
Then try to work the best deal with your dealer.

So I did that, which is where I got the numbers. Just like my present build has every option, I did that with the MAYBACH as well. Here are my thoughts:
- the extra length doesn't matter to me because its in the back and I drive.
- I won't take advantage of the two seats and console in the back because I need the bench seat for my large German Shepard.
- it has things like automatic closing and power closing doors which are not available in the standard S 580. I had that in my BMW 7 and loved it.
- has upgraded graphics on the MBUX screens.
- has a nicer front grill - no stars and everything looks the same just a little fancier. They did a nice job.
- it does have the two tone paint job which I love, but nothing that I would choose because I decided this time around I wanted a green car. The colors that are available for two tone are very standard colors. I could do a make to order color combination but that would be a full PA1 and probably another $10-15 thousand at least.
-and then of course, the MAYBACH badging.
-the quality of the finishes will be exactly alike except with some gold or platinum badging inside.
-the power is the same, but I assume the MAYBACH will be a little better tuned.

There are several categories of paints.
Non-metallic - no delays
Metallic - no delays
MANUFAKTUR paints - no delays
Exclusive MANUFAKTUR paints - this is your paint and it is not a standard paint and must be scheduled by the PA1 department for production which is why you have to write to them. Mine took a day to get changed. Some interiors are the same way. Nobody know exactly yet what delays there may be, if any.
Here is a copy of the latest DOG that has pictures. I find the paint colors are not as accurate and only give you an idea. The interior colors may be a little more accurate. I spent hours on the internet looking at cars that had these colors. For my colors, they are not as popular so that task took a long time, but you can usually find them.
PA1 is a program Mercedes has that had allowed you to custom order a car with previous colors and you could even change some of the panels on the door and dash. Now that they came out with the MANUFACKUR program, they are allowing you to order those colors without having to go through the PA1 process. That process still exists but given all the choices, you would only use PA1 to change panel colors and things like that.

Saw this Maybach SL680 on the dealership floor in the Ireland Dark Green. Beautiful color. Great choice. Though I have to say the paint had a shocking amount of orange peel.
Personally I think the Maybach is a little garish and over the top, but I gotta say the refresh one is a little bit different story vs the refresh grille with all the stars.
Seriously might be one where I would get the regular car and get the Maybach grille.
Admittedly I really like the Maybach version the best; somehow the dual paint works on that car and I enjoy the overall length. Depending of course on the color combo. The facelift looks good here as well. That said it would have been nice to add the electric comfort front doors to the car. The Maybach EQS has them, why not the ICE version...

Same here. I’ve always thought the Maybach of the W223 is the best looking variant. If anything it’s the only one that I think doesn’t need anything else. Even for the pre-faeclift, It wasn’t boring, and the front grill and bumper design made it look elegant and exciting. I love the front grill design. No front-electric doors was a bummer though, even for the regular lineup when I thought it’s a guaranteed and needed upgrade, but I was wrong.

That is indeed a gorgeous color. Seems Mercedes and other manufacturers are once again discovering how beautiful green can be on a sedan.

My order turned RED the other day, which means fully frozen and no more changes. Because of my interior and exterior colors, my order became a PA1 and the production date was moved from May 22nd to August 24th.
I was expecting something like this but was hoping it wasn't going to be so long. Maybe it will move up a little, that is what happened on my last PA4 order.
