Based on what others are describing over bumps and rough surfaces, my guess is they've retarded the rebound rate - maybe to reduce the cracked wheel claims?
It just doesn't make much sense for them to give the existing (already sold) cars an OTA with such drastic suspension setting changes.
There's gotta be a reason behind this change and I'm dying to read the release note to this EO.
it could be this or previous one depending how on how many software versions his car jumped via his last update. Some previous releases clearly noted suspension changes and his car is a model year that may have been running on the older/good software release or left factory before those changes were implemented. Just a hypothesis.

it’s not great, I know, but it’s like a student improving from C- to C+. You would have been much more dissatisfied to go from W222 MBC to regular/standard W223 airmatic. Even those with Airmatic are complaining now with newer software releases. I personally found the 2020-2023 model years with airmatic and older software to be fine and better than newer ones that came with newer software from factory or got updated recently.

I found this OTA service campaign for air suspension vehicles, 21-23 S Class and EQS:

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...51178-0001.pdf

Like I said I don't think this is tied to the 2.6.1 update, I think this is a separate update.

Mine is a 24 but was manufactured in 12/23. It was at the dealer today and they said that there were no available updates, I am not on MBUX 2.6.1 though. I can tell you my car rides great, exhibits none of the behavior that yours does. I wish you were nearby I would let you drive mine to compare.

Unfortunately the dealer is going to tell you its "operating as designed"

@Frenetic go into your app and look at the OTA update history. I pulled this one off of an online Reddit post:

Check out the third one down-

This is from my app, nothing about the suspension. What does yours say?

Alright, I’m stupid. 2.6.1 updated on 5/10/25. I didn’t notice the year but just saw the month and day, which just happened to be a damn coincidence it was on the same day. However, something did change.

Did you try cycling the height? Checked your tire pressures lately?

This is exactly what I came here to say. In my world there is a fallacy to be aware of which is post hoc Ergo propter Hoc.

It's Spring now and temperatures are starting to rise so the ideal gas law is going to get most of us from a tire pressure perspective. I would start there rather than to blame a software update because the likelihood that a software update changed how air suspension rebound rates are behaving is incredibly rare. It can happen but it seems unlikely

Yeah I find mine sometimes starts "riding crappy" and cycling through everything helps to reset it. I found that to be true of all cars I have had with air suspension from various brands. Also like you said higher temps mean higher pressures in tires.

I haven’t. How do I cycle height? I’ve cycled through the different driving modes.

I’m wondering if they pushed out a hidden update. I’m wondering if we are on a fixed update cycle by vin/date and this update hit me on the same date as 2.6.1. Something is different. The transmission also feels different.

Just press the car button and select raise and let it do it, drive it around the block at low speed, and then lower it again and drive it around the block.

I doubt there was any hidden update. I think you're likely just hyper-focused on the car and what its doing

Quick pics for you:

It will take it 15 seconds or so to rise all the way up.

Unrelated (quick) question, can the quick access menu icons be modified/changed/rearranged/assigned to something else?

How is that achieved? As holding doesn't let me delete an icon or add a new shortcut to the quick access.
