I came across which I have never seen before on a carfax that a MB dealer just certified a '24 S580 and it states on the carfax that paint protection was applied.... Should this be a red flag as this car is in Kentucky and I keep asking myself why would I dealer do this? Has all the options I"m looking for except the 3d package which I can live without since I rarely ever need navigation anyway. I'll be contacting dealer today about the paint protection, but wanted to get everyone's thoughts on why this was added and maybe they could be trying to hide something. Thanks for any advice!
The "paint protection" could be a ceramic coat or some other coating that will prevent things like bird dropping from staining the paint, or reduce the risk of paint swirls, or maybe even chip protection. I routinely opt for it, and would consider it a plus.

Thanks for sharing. What does MB normally charge for this? I'm asking for a VMI so this will hopefully answer any concerns as I was in the dealer twice for a seat repair job.
