i am leaving on a trip tomorrow and i heard that in the S-class there is only one place you can put the radar, b/c there is some kind of material on the windshield that blocks the radar. can anyone help me on this issue?

l had the same issue! there is a space about3 x 6 inches about 4 inches to the right from the centre bottom of the windshield,for your radar.You can see it more clearly if you shine a flashlight at an angle at the approximate area!!

l read somewhere it stops radio frequency or ultra violet(or something like that l am not sure)but it works fine now.

I think it's like my old 740 ... it's meant to keep out the heat from the sun and helps keep your car cooler.

Speaking of radar detectors, anyone know the most convenient place to tap into some power, in order to hard wire my V1?

has anyone tapped into the sunroof wiring up near the
rearview mirror to power the radar detctor ?..........nevermind, that wont work the wires are still constant power and the switch for the sunroof is enclosed and the wire to it is always hot.
I guess im going to tap into the cigarette lighter..

I used a fuse under the hood in the drivers side fuse box for the cigarette lighter. I ran the wire
through the passenger floor. There is a wire pass thru there. I removed the RH front tire and I took the black fender wall out for access.
