should i get an s65

Dealer has an S65 available for a few months now. Anxious to move it. List was $172k, invoice is something like $161k. Supposedly MB can give them a helping hand. I suspect they would be willing to sell below invoice but I wonder by how much. Is $150k a good offer or can i get even better than that?

Try 142k$ and see where you can get
Especially considering a new body style is already out and being touched up by tuners the W220 is old school

I still would only lease the S65....it's price is dropping like a rock. Would hate to buy it for 161, then want to buy the new S65 and have the value be like 125. Let MB eat the Titanic sized depreciation. Course if money is no object.....(in New York eeze)....doe worrrrrry booouutt it.

Oh yeah, nothing wrong with old school.
I'm just saying that the dealers don't like to keep a lot of money tied up in old inventory while a) moving into the new year and b) getting a new model line out.

I looked at leasing my new S55, but Mercedes has already built in the depreciation. The lease payments were huge!

If you have a company ... go for it, if not you may want to consider owning it.

The s65 crushes the s55 anyway. Get the 65. Soon MB will discontinue all turbos and superchargers (i hear)...get the best now.

I have had the same debate, and I've decided to wait for the NEW (W221?) S65. The new S has all the best of Mercedes new-fangled engineering marvels incorporated into it that it would just be an absolute shame to buy a current-model one now. And if you're looking at a -55 you should go ahead and move up to the -65 if money isn't an issue. Can you get into the available one and favorably trade into a new one? That would be the question that I'd be asking....

Eh, W221 sucks. Real men don't drive cars with column shifters. :p

Yeah, I would want a little more till the W221 makes its official debut at showrooms. Then the prices of the W220s would drop further.

Mercedes
Wait for the w221. Aside from the depreciation that you will experience, once you see those cars on the road you know you're going to want one.

I've seen CL65s selling @ $135k new. Your offer should be much lower than $150k.

I offered something much lower than $150k and that didn't take. My guess is thing can be had for something between $140 and $150k (at this point anyway). Where did you see a new CL65 selling for $135k?

btw, someone asked the color. it's black.

i can tell you right now that you can get a 2006 CL55 for <$120k. I was interested in that as well but it doesn't bode well for a "family" car, hence the S65! I can't imagine a CL65 at $135k. that would be incredible.

I saw it on ebay (Mercedes-Benz of Huntington). It's an 05 , but still a pretty good deal. The reserve is $135,783. You can probably get it cheaper since it doesn't have that many options.

Even 150k for a benz is too much. You can get a Maserati Quattroporte for less money and get another car for the rest. Benz is an awesome car, but its not any close to ferrari/bentley range >> 150k
