Time to update that TSB sticky, Ricky.
I just received a letter from M-B USA announcing Service Campaign #2006-030011. Effects the 2002-2006 AMG versions of the SLK, C, E, CL, S, CLS, SL, G vehicles. Also effects 2006-06 SLR, for those of you SLR owners slumming around the S55 forum.
Says they need to upgrade firmware in the ECU and swap out a relay for the Secondary Air Injection Pump.
Will avoid a potential malfunction that could render the SAIP relay inoperable, and which would light up the "check engine" light.
Should be a freebie. I'll make them pay ME in coffee and donuts in the customer lounge! Maybe they can dial in a few extra pounds of boost while they are updating my ECU.

had to drop off the s class last nite and i'll be picking it up today afterwork. interesting to see a NUMBER of AMG's at the service dept at one time. Have fun with the loaner car

Make sure your dealer has the relay before you go in. I went in to have mine done today, and they did not have the AMG specific relay in stock. I guess this recall applies to cars other than AMG. I did, of course, check with the parts dept. before I made the appt. and they said " no problem...we got 'em ".
My service advisor also said that the software download and code reset has taken longer than normal, so it may be a little longer than the 1 hour specified in the letter.
He also said this could result in a NON-START situation, so it is worth getting done.
