Well, compared to an 190E it still is fast, but not as it should.
I mean, the car's supposed to have 500hp, and 800Nm of torque stock, and
I bought it in Germany at a MB dealership, with only 62000 Km (99000 miles).
And on my way back home from Germany, I had it tuned for 1200,- €uros.
The german company that tuned it said it's now 578hp, and 910Nm.
And he told me not to be disappointed at first, because it'll take a 4-5 hours drive before the car adjusts to all the new data, and have full effect.
But the thing is, when I clocked the car a week later (with a G-Tech, and a stop watch, I was PRETTY disappointed!
From 0-100 km/h (or 62 m/h) it took 5,2 s..! Stock does it in 4,7 s.
From 0-200 km/h (125 m/h) it took 19 s..! Stock does it in 15 s.
1/4 mile in 13,7 s, with an end speed at 172 km/h (107,5 m/h)..!
Pretty embarrasing, wouldn't you say..?!
Especially, since it suppose to lack only 34hp to a 65 AMG!
Something is terribly wrong here..!
I directly called the german tuner. And he said;
-"There must have been something wrong with the car in the first place, before the tuning".
I said that I couldn't tell, since the drive before the tuning wasn't long enough.
So, he told me to take it to the MB dealer where I live, to have it examined.
I did, and they told me that the separate cooling system for the intercoolers, had an "air pocket". That means, the temperature there is to hot, and that means, that the car lowers the turbo pressure automaticly.
Makes sense, doesn't it?
Well, they fixed that, and they also replaced a circulation pump there.
But, it didn't help!!!
So now what..? Does anyone have a clue..?
Or a simular car, so you please can clock that one, for comparason...
I'm desperate here.
Best regards,
maxabo.

Me again.
Sorry, I got the translating from kilometers to miles all wrong. The car has only gone 38500 miles...

MBWorld Fanatic!
Can you have them reflash your car with the most updated ECU program at the dealership and see if that brings some power back?
Well, the thing is, that my MB dealer here is totally incompetent.
I asked them what the turbo pressure is suppose to be? No clue.
Then, I asked them how much turbo pressure I got? No clue.
Finally, I asked them how the turbos were placed (like 2-step, or if they worked on each side of the engine (6 cylinders each)? And no clue, there either...
So I don't think I want them to do any big adjustments on the car.
Instead, I went to a friends Bosch shop. He had no problems with checking my turbo pressure. We went for a drive with a lap top hooked up, sort of.
And the pressure was 0.85 bar at full throttle, and 1.0 bar when I braked a little at the same time.
My guess is, that it is more than stock. But tomorrow I will call Germany to see what the car has stock. Then I'll get some answers to how the turbos are placed also, I think...
