AMG Supercharger for sale for C55,CLK55...
Put on ebay today or call me if serously interested. Ebay item #: 190095302129
This supercharger will take the naturally aspirated models below ugrade them with a supercharger. M113 5.4 L "55" V8 models (naturally aspirated) The increase in horsepower will go from a stock 360 hp to around 469 hp.
The naturally aspirated V8 with 360 PS has 355 hp/265 kW and with this supercharger, according to the published output according to Mercedes varies from 476 PS (469 hp/350 kW) to 517 PS (509 hp/380 kW) depending on various methods of power measurements and different ECU programming for national legislations.
THESE ARE THE MODELS THAT COULD USE THIS SUPERCHARGER
You will need to contact your MB technician for specific compatibility and mod's necessary for a complete and proper install. (I bought this for my SL500 only to find out that physically it will fit fine but from an engine computer standpoint it will not and also because i do not have a 55 engine as you need.)
M113 5.4 L "55" V8 models (naturally aspirated) It can supercharge.
C55 AMG
CLK55 AMG
SLK55 AMG
ML55 AMG
Of course this could also be used to replace an AMG supercharger that is blown or malfunctioning on any of these models:
M113 5.4 L "55" V8 models (supercharged)
E55 AMG
S55 AMG
CLS55 AMG
CL55 AMG
SL55 AMG
G55 AMG

So that blower is only useful if you want to replace a worn part on a broken existing AMG V8 Kompressor. It will not work well with an NA 55 motor like those in 2001-2002 S/CL55's 1999-2002 E55's 2000-2002 ML55, 2005-2006 C55's etc.
Sorry but thats the reality of the upgrade.

No but a stock amg blower runs far more boost than the kleemann kit AND they have a more efficient intercooler so charge air is not as hot making it less likely to detonate etc.
You could take the amg blower and make a smaller pulley for the blower it self and then have it create less boost but that is just a pain in the rear. Just go with kleemann or renntech if you want to run a blower on the NA 55 motors.
Both firms offer a LOW boost kit for 55's that have stock internals. If you want the high boost kit from renntech they do all the same strengthening as AMG to make the motor withstand the stress's of the added compression caused with 11-14 pounds of boost.

Hey cosmo,
Does that supercharger have a bypass valve? It looks like it does not in the pics. Can you post a pic looking down at the TB. So I can see underneath the TB.

how come for the amg superchargers you guys use bigger pulleys to make more boost, but on other cars like cobras, cobalts or gtps, etc. they use smaller pulleys to make more boost?

..........depends on where the pulley is going. You want a larger crank pulley and/or a smaller s/c pulley. Best option is a smaller s/c pulley like the mustang guys do, but that is not possible in the AMGV8K cars, because the s/c clutch is integrated into the pulley assembly.

A smaller pulley is not nec. favorable as the strain on the belt has increased, but the surface area for the belt to transfer that strain through has decreased. After I had installed my smaller supercharger pulley, my boost went up only 3 psi. The s/c belt repeatedly wore out after 10k. miles or less and covered the engine with loads of rubber dust. The dust was cause by the belt being on the edge of slipping under load. I knew when the belt was toast when the boost pressure would start climbing and then drop along with the power. It was fun, but a larger crank pulley would have been better.

I'm thinking about picking up an AMG supercharger from one of the 55 models and applying it to my 99 clk430. I understand that this will take quite a bit of fitment, and some pully size adjustments. Do you think it will work if:
-my crank pulley is enlarged properly
-an efficient intercooler and tubing is used
-engine can be tuned properly (hardest part)
-i have access to a machine shop for fitment issues and part fabrication
I'm not sure about fuel injectors and other things. I know I need low boost (probably under 13 psi, maybe around 7), but I'm not sure what else is necessary to modify to make it work. What do you guys think?

It will create boost but the M113 cars with blowers from the factory have strengthened blocks, reduced compression pistons, and stronger rods. Its just not a simple slap on a blower sort of upgrade. If you run full boost on that blower you really need to beef up the internals and the block as the block will crack with time. There is a reason amg did that for the OEM production cars.
So that blower is only useful if you want to replace a worn part on a broken existing AMG V8 Kompressor. It will not work well with an NA 55 motor like those in 2001-2002 S/CL55's 1999-2002 E55's 2000-2002 ML55, 2005-2006 C55's etc.

it will be cheaper just to get a used engine and harness from a 2003 plus CL. you will need a lot more parts than just eh SC. PM me if you want a engine

ok. so would by transmission and driveline match with a motor from the 03-07 . i assume the exhaust manifold and headers would be different? are my engine mounts going to need altering for newer generation motor. so is it called a m113 engine that i should look for . whats a good price for a used motor
thanks again
thanks again

I'm reality it would be cheaper just to buy the more powerful car. The cost of the parts and to headache working on these cars. I have a 2003 CLK 55 AMG that I have been trying to find why I am losing antifreeze and but my car is not overheating. I believe it's the head gaskets but not sure. I have a white chalky like stuff all on the front on the engine. I have found some videos on YouTube but nothing too helpful.
THere was also oil all over the front of the engine around the driver's side heads and oil cooler area. I have not pinpointed where the leak is yet.
I am a F35 Aircraft Mechanic and this car is probably more irritating to work on. And believe me the plane is a migraine at times.
