Awesome looking car! How is it a designo car?

Jeff - Don't specifically know about noxxin, but with the 030 package the wood is labled Designo on the back of the center console.

Dr. Knopp....please tell me if you feel like your new '08 is as fast as your previous '04 E55. Does your S63 have drive dynamic seats? What was the MSRP sticker?

Any possibility of you guys taking close-ups of the leather? The S63 I saw had a rather rough pattern particularly on the doors.

Hey Jeff, i have posted a pic of where it says designo on the wood panel above the rear temp controls. I'm not really sure why that's on there considering it doesn't say designo anywhere on the window sticker......but i like it!!!

Today was the 2nd day driving to work - I drive it in to NYC daily - I can say the ride is orders of magnitude superior to my old E55, despite the size - it handles as it should - the ABC is fantastic (I'm set in S mode). Still getting used to 7 speed tranny (and it to me) but she flies - a different feel from the E, however.[/QUOTE]

Opened my baby up today on the 101 freeway, the mid-range torque is obnoxious...hehehe. I agree that the 7 speed gives you a constant kick in the rear end. I have been going back and forth between comfort and sport, I don't want to overextend the rpm's too much for the first 500-1000 miles. Makes my CLS55 and E55 both feel tame. Congrats to you as well Ed.

Stephen mine does have drive dynamic seats and seems faster then both my previous 06 cls55 and 04 E55...although I feel it in only in the mid gears between 40 and 120mph the most. a little sluggish off the line but to be expected based on its tank like weight.

Stephen - The S feels different than the E - my guess is the 7 speed tranny, so far (and I'm still getting used to it) the initial kick is not as strong, but otherwise it does sem as fast - and handles much better - feels much more stable. The drive dynamic seats are standard and are much better - more sensitive and with the ability to more radically adjust the seats overall they're a tighter fit. Also the passenger seat if activated stays on. The base sticker is 127K, my bottom line sticker was a tad over 143

what do you guys think of the brabus or lorinser rear trunk spoiler as a subtle mod? the link below has a gallery. I tinted the windows and the red part on the tail lights today it looks unreal. here's a couple of bad photos i took in the garage after the sun went down i will take some more tomorrow in the daylight.

I think the wood is designo as it is part of the 030 performance package. That is cool, thanks for the pic!

noxxin - can't tell from the pics, guess you need more light.
I think the lorenser is too much the brabus I can't really see a spoiler, but in any event it's all personal preference.

Noxxin, I would pick the Brabus spoiler over the Lorinser. Much more subtle and flows with the body of the S much better.

Hey Turtle, I got it done at a place called tint factory on La Cienega just north of Venice. The guys name is Frank and they do an amazing job. He took photos as well to add to his book. I got home after dark tonight and took a couple of pics without my wife's car in the garage which i'll add to the post but I need to take a bunch in the day light tomorrow. I did a mid dark "euro style" tint but it looks almost limo dark at night with all of the rear shades up.

I agree. I don't know if it needs any spoiler at all, i guess that's the real question.

Noxxin the tint looks sick! Do you know what percent and what brand it is? Also how much did it set you back if you dont mind asking? A local shop here wants 580 to install huper optik...its supposed to reduce heat significantly.

Thanks man. I think it's 20% and the brand is 3M. He did the windows for $300 and the tail lights for $200. I'll get some more shots in the daytime. Well worth it.
