S65 is on the boat

My dealer said that my S65 should be here at the end of this month. It's black(040)/black. I've had too many cars with a grey interior. My wife's CLK has a tan interior which is a bit too light for me. I don't care for the designo options. I ordered all the other options except for individual rear seating. It's supposed to be a 2008 model, but I don't know if it has the latest nav (birds-eye view, traffic) in it. I'll have to see when it gets here. Not a big deal either way. I'll post some pix when I get it.

Thank you for your comments

According to the tracking site, my car arrived in Baltimore on June 10. Based on past experience, it usually takes a couple of weeks for the car to arrive after that. Fingers are crossed. One of the pleasures of life is the arrival of a new car, especially a magnificent new car.

I just my S65 Renntech'd out and it's absolutely amazing...

I honestly didn't think that I would notice the power differance because the car is a rocket ship already, but it's amazing.

The torque is awesome. Stomping on the gas at 90Mph gives you a rush... I highly recommend Renntech mods. Contact me if you would like to talk.

Thanks! I've read your posts on the S65 for some time, seen some of your videos, and those have helped encourage me to purchase this car sight unseen. Not the first time I've done this, but it's valuable to get input before making a decision.

I put K2 mods in my E55 and that really made a difference. I'll have to see how I like the S65 as is. However, a lot of horsepower is good, more is better, and too much is just right.

Honestly, I got bored with the car and was thinking about selling and getting something else... After I Renntech'd it, I don't think I will ever sell it... It made the car so much better.

A bit of a delay

The car is in Baltimore, but MB won't release it until mid-July because the 2008 models won't be introduced until then. However, I'm pleased to be getting an '08, so I can tolerate a bit of a delay in getting the car.

congrats. i wonder why they released the '08 S63's already but are holding the 65's that are already state-side until July.

I don't have the answer for this but I don't think the '08 S550 has been released yet, either. It may be related to emissions certification, which I understand is done on yearly basis, or to unsold '07 inventory on dealer lots. The latter may be more likely since there would be no '07 S63's.

I saw a couple of '08 S550s at the local dealer but they were newly arrived and not yet prepped. May be that they are advance stocking but cars wont be released until official release date
