ECU Upgrade Done!!
I had the ECU reprogrammed today on my S63 and was told that this would give me 35-40 more hp to the crank and 15-20 to the rear wheels. I was also told that this hp should be available in the low range right off the gas pedal. I drove with the ESP off as well and easily lit the back tires up off the line and chirped them from 2-3rd gear. I definitely feel a noticeable difference.
I am having them order a new transmission module (not sure if this its proper name) and then it is being sent to Bosch Motorsports to be reprogrammed to produce much faster shifts. I am going to add the S65 exhaust and tips and then run the car on the dyno to see if it needs any tweaks to the software and for a stat print out to see what I really gained. I was told by 2 different people that the kleeman headers or any headers for that matter are a bad idea and the most substantial gain to a 63 comes from the ecu upgrade. I am an amateur and admit I don't really know that much about the technical aspect of all of this and don't really know if this is 100% accurate. In any event I don't want to get to crazy with all of these add ons but I must admit that after the excitement of getting the computer reprogrammed, and then planning to do these other few things, I can see now how this can become a little addictive.

By a Bosch technician in LA who was recommended by my service advisor. Cost $1500. my service adviser also said if I use them it won't mess with my warranty and I was told they will program it back to the factory settings if I need them too when my lease is up. The delimitation has been set to 200mph as well.

a few of our customers with E63s have come buy with for RENNTECH software and it really does make a difference. they are amazing out of the box, but the software perfects the already amazing OEM software.
PM me for more info on the RENNTECH S63 Software and headers

Hey Noxxin !!
That sounds amazing! I was going to get an ECU upgrade - but at the last minute - my service rep advised me that it was not a good idea, and for me to just trust him on that - so i figured I'd pass at this time. I own the car - and would be afraid of the "red flag" he said it would raise.
NOT to dispute anyone else who had it done.... as to date, i have not heard of any problems from it.
By The way....... i want a ride in your car. TOMORROW! no questions asked!
Just Kidding! It would appear I survived from all that madness!!!!!!

160 mph baby!!!
I took the drive from LA to Irvine and back tonight to visit a friend (who was ironically in a car wreck) and hit the toll road on the way out. The highway was completely empty so I said what the hell and ended up pushing her up just over 160mph. in the past when i got my previous amgs up around 140mph, it felt like i was going 140. all I can say, is in this monster it felt like I was going 50mph. i felt like there was A LOT more left in the remaining gears (i don't think i broke more then 5th) and power. All I can say is UNREAL. with the ECU update i am supposed to be delimited to 200mph and I now feel like I must get there some day some how.

IM glad the ecu upgrade turned out in your favor. I know two 63 owners who got thier car chipped, and one of them actually lost power... Which company did you go with and did they provide you with a before and after dyno sheet?

Yep, everytime unless you service independantly. The dealers usually first thing is to clear, flash the ecu. So hopefully the Bosch tech will redo the ecu with the software after the first service @1800 mi

my service guy just told me he will make sure they don't flash it. the bosch guy still needs to add the newly programmed transmission module as well as my S65 exhaust tips and said he would tweak the upgrade then if needed too.

That's strange, a lot of people go to "Mexico" for that kinda' run. Something about "anything you say can and will be held against you ... "
Why would they limit the car at 200? Seems kind of silly, no?
I mean, what can it do? 204? 206?
