Hey the car looks awesome man I like what you've done to it (this time around) if you have any pics from what it looked like previously I would be interested. I, however am not a fan of the headrests, here are pictures of some we just did in an S600 which are 10.2" each and we also put an HDTV tuner in the glovebox along with a 3rd DVD player in the glovebox (the other 2 are built into the headrests) so that each screen can have it's own DVD playing (the clients and their children are not the best at agreeing on what to watch...) there are wireless headsets and each and every input (the 3 DVD's and the HDTV) is visable and audible from the front factory screen as well. It's a pretty neat setup. The headrests are also wrapped in genuine Mercedes Leather perfectly matching each and every interior... Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Jeff,

Those screens look awesome. Perfect integration - How are the 10 inch screens? VS an 8 inch?

Rosen?

very nice.

Thanks Coogi!

The screens are top quality. Lets just say that after being in the backseat of that S600, my 7inch screens in my truck look puny...haha So 8inch screens probably will look just as small.

and Freshbenz, you would be surprised as to the huge number of people that actually ship their vehicles, their boats, and all other sorts of toys to LA just to get aftermarket and performance work done.

I gotta agree on love2skiutah's headrests looking a tad "cheap" or should i say "non-oem" looking.

110motoring dvd-headrests are on point IMO.

As far as blacking out the emblums or taking them off.. You really think this guy would do that? No one would know it's a v12!! or RennTECH!! or AMG!! or a MERCEDES!!
Hahah woww what a hater.

The rims are Forgiato (I believe) and they are pretty popular in the car scene ESPECIALLY with Platinum motorsports seeing as everything in and out of there is sitting on them. But really, tune it down with all the hating..to each his own. Another thing, do not EVER compare any car related to this forum to a Honda Civic.

I really like the 10" screens. But does it bypass the active restraint headrests? Wolverine do you have any pictures of your installation?
Mercedes told me a few months ago that this cannot be done without bypassing the active restraint system.

If it does I would hate to be on the receiving end of a passenger lawsuit claiming I bypassed the safety feature that caused his injury.

Everybody is pretty quick to calll those that don't agree haters. I think there are a lot of people that just don't say anything instead of being critical. I can see the look that he was going for and appreciate it. I have to say though that I am of the opinion that much beyond wheels and tint on a car of this caliber hurts more than it helps. I have to agree with some of the others here blacking out grilles and painting calipers is best left to lesser vehicles.

Does that make me a hater? I can't see how I'm jealous as hell I'd love to have an S65 ... without all the mods. Just remember if we all wanted the exact same look what a boring world this would be.

I'm quite surprised that most people like these wheels. IMO, they are way to "bling" for that car and is something you'd see in a 50 cent video (that's not a good thing), not to mention the huge increase in unsprung weight which will have a significant impact on acceleration, handling, and braking (you probably lost an equivalent of 50hp+ by getting these rims). HRE, Iforged, Renntech, etc are much more "clean" looking than these and are far better overall choice IMO.

I was too told this but later I was told it was possible to have it installed without it interfering with the active restraint system. I have had tv's/dvd players installed on my CLS55 and it came installed on my S550. I will try and dig up some pictures.

Wolverine,

Those screens look awesome! I was curious as well about the headrest screens being possible as I've heard from both sides that they were/were not....obviously it's feasible.

--Of course people have their own opinions regarding others modifications - but it is when people start referencing an S65 to a honda civic, ruining the cars presence etc. Is what urks me.

My personal opinion - 90% of people can not tell the difference between a stock S550 and a renntech'd S65. The price is about double and it makes sense to make the customer feel like they have really purchased the ultimate vehicle (when not only stepping on the gas pedal) My S65 will be a designo model - to which I will feel like the purchase was one of a kind.

Maybe a body-kit that is different from the S63? Either way the engines in all of these cars INCLUDING the S550 are amazing.

I just can't wait until I recieve mine.

Coogi

Looks great Wolverine. I dont like the type that hang off of the headrests but yours look like a good fit.

Those DVD players in the S600 with the Black interior are very nice. I had 3 or 4 different options for DVD players. Most of them required cutting or replacing the entire headrest like on that S600. I didn't want to do that, so the Rosen Players were the best option for me.... Also, they came pre-loaded with a bunch of video games and wireless controllers. Most of the other players did not have that option.

No longer car shopping...
Why is it that everyone on here applauds a guy and doesn't get ribbed yet when a few people point out how THEY believe that he's junked a quality car, they are termed "Haters"? Based on this approach, it's OK to be a sheep and just artificially pump the guy full of hot air? As this guy is proving we don't need any more sheep... Baaaa?

I'll applaud him for "trying" to be different but also wonder why on earth this guy did this to a perfectly good 65. It's his car and his right to do what ever he wants to it but it's nothing I would EVER do to a 65. And then the 16 year old in me wonders why he did a "half-a'd" job? I mean even the ricer's KNOW that when you "black out" out a car (and do the job right), you HAVE to smoke the headlight and taillights and you leave things like the chrome exhaust well, um, chrome. You only want certain things highlighted. The Rims are just OK but those are also done "backwards" The centers are usually black with the lips in chrome. Some have even gone 100% black with the red accent like in this thread for some

There's another guy on here that did a pretty good job blacking out his tails (left the white stripe in the center). This one is, ah...incomplete..

^ I meant to say in my post; I am very suprised that the tail lights and head lights were not ruined. Like you said, you would expect someone like this to for sure do that.

How come no pictures of the right hand side, where the AMG logo is?

Cause the left hand side is the same as the right hand side
