it's only a bad decision if you can't actually afford it and do it without adding extra financial burden ..

I'm not talking about the investment, but the choice of the car!

good call. You'll never look back! The S is so much more of a car than the E class. The extras really make it nice, plus it is smooth and quiet and as fast as you'll need. No offense, but I hate the E class and had to sell my wife's E 320 wagon when I was driving the S class. Of course your car and the wagon don't compare, but the basic E class can't hold a candle to an S Class.
You'll be surprised how nice the torque is and how well it handles especially if you shift gears alot.
Enjoy!!!

The only problem you'll have is the SL55 which is not going to provide you with enough oomph anymore.

I know a nice SL65 for sale in your neighbourhood: http://www.asv.nl/aanbod/detail/?A79...8C2E6BD46B998/

Thx Sacha,

But probably, I will never accept the financial bloodbad to invest in optical (more or less) the same car.

For me, the SL55 is not a daily driving car, because of the known Dutch weather.... if the sun is shining, I still can enjoy the sound of the Supercharged V8.

BTW, if not I have to chance my nickname...........

well the way i see it, the choice of E or S is just a matter of which one you can afford.... if you can afford S, of course go for the S as it's much better than E in every way...

I thought you were talking about the W220 not the W221

The color is amazing as are the wheels. You're right that the new exhaust set up does make them sound meaner.

I'm jealous, but in a good way. Enjoy her

Congrats....one of world's greatest cars....enjoy

IMO, those 030 wheels make S65 so much more attractive than new S65 w/the clunky wheels that US-spec S65s (and CL65s) have....

Presume you have all-leather sport steering wheel?....and not the codgerly wood steering wheel US-spec S65s have....

Does it have burl walnut interior trim....or is carbon fiber/blk wood available?

Again, brilliant car....no better sedan on planet IMO....

Thanks!

Yes, the 030 wheels makes the car more sporty!

The steering wheel is all-leather with the gear shift levers. And the wood is Designo Piano Black!

I am assuming it is a 2007 S65. How many miles do you have on the car?

Those 030 wheels, sport steering wheel and blk wood make your S65 appear so much more impressive than a US-spec S65....well-chosen details are esp critical in appearance of discretionary cars like 65s....

The notion of a $200K AMG w/a wood steering wheel, burl walnut and clunky wheels is rather laughable....

Hopefully, for MY09, US-spec 65s (or whatever AMG V12) will have more logical choices of available wheels/steering wheel/interior trim....

Specced to perfection. So does it have 030 suspension? What does the pack include on the W221? What is exterior paint called? Did you get it CPO or new?

Sorry for the questions but car's don't get any better than the new S65 when optioned out like yours
