Does anyone have any pics (or link to ) interior shot of Designo S65 in Espresso Edition?
Any help would be appreciated...

Believe S-Class printed brochure has couple pics of Espresso ed...presumably applicable to '08 S65...

Don't know if '09 S65 has similar changes to '09 CL65, which will come std w/030 wheels, cf interior trim and delimiter....but still has the codgerly quilted leather to not alienate >75yo buyers....

Also, sounds like US buyers will finally be able to spec more colors, deviated stitch, more cf, etc w/'09s as these AMG Perf Studios roll-out in US....haven't heard specific options or timing, but seems like AMG has learned from F/P that such aesthetic options can be quite profitable....

Being an owner of W211 designo espresso and assuming the ext/int color is very similar (it is from W210, W211 and W220), you would not be disappointed with it. Rich dark brown... looks best under the sun. Contrast & elegant interior (not as contrast as porcelain ). The best & most unique color combo (yes, better than designo graphite - IMO)

Expresso editions have always been my favorite. What is ghastly, in my opinion, is the horrific price they charge, even on 600 and 65 AMG cars, which supposedly already have the upgraded leather/trim, and color would be the only "upgrade". Then again, the painting/staining process may be what is costly in that process, so I don't know.

There aren't too many pictures around this site. If you searched you might find two different colors because they changed the interior color chip a little bit for Espresso for MY08.

MY07 Espresso looked like this:

MY08 Espresso:

Maybe there are two different leather color options for Espresso for MY08, but the most recent pictures I've seen of it lately look like the one in the second link.

I am surprised MB dealers have absolutely zero practical information about these packages,no samples,no pictures just a few words description.....
Also,MBUSA website truly sucks,no possibility of configuring any AMG S class is just unacceptable, you are supposed to order the car having no idea what it would look like.

All true....

But would observe that (even quite good) F dealers are ultimately no better, despite more elaborate showrms, more colors w/fancy names, blah-blah....paint chips, swatches, deviated stitch, etc are hard to extrapolate, to understand how car will appear in real-life in different lights....and our friends in Italy often make "executive decisions" w/complex, bespoke-specs anyway....have several colleagues who spec new F's every 6mos w/major dealers in SF/Greenwich.....they can laugh about outcome (even if disappointing) b/c new F's are almost free for repeat custs anyway, w/the US Ponzi scheme F plays....

P has all kinds of bespoke spec stuff....but even major dealers are clueless re: all the option codes needed to even get deviated stitch....notice how many 997GT2s on ebay w/the now-overplayed yell stitch and belts (to play off PCCBs) are missing deviated stitch on steering wheel rim and shifter surround?

Suspect MB (correctly) has been hesitant to offer complex bespoke specs as they struggled w/their quality and supplier issues (e.g., many early '08 CL65s lacked DistPlus)....simplicity is often a shrewd approach to maximize quality....

My sense is this AMG Perf Studio nonsense is going to be a mkg failure, like Maybach was.....my usual dealer passed on wasting ?$500K to set-up a separate AMG showrm.....most sophisticated, repeat buyers hardly ever visit a dealer except to pick-up new car; swatches, etc can be mailed; computer screen resolutions are quite good; etc....

MBUSA and AMG Germany need to figure out basics of interior finishes, like spec'g 65's w/o codgerly quilting in an otherwise contemporary minimalist interior; spec'g a sports steering wheel w/smooth leather finish of rim and airbag cvr (akin to CL65 40thAnniv stg wh).....simple steps before tackling more complex colors, deviated stitch, etc....

Will give credit to AMG for having a seamless approach (like FNA has) for airshipping one's cars into US.....shipping aspect AMG needs to improve is to use Horseless Carriage to truck $150K+ AMGs from port to dealer (not the current cheapest poss truckers that ferry both $35K C300 and $200K CL65s)....P doesn't even have a logistics set-up to airship cars into US, at any price....perhaps reflecting its weaker buyer base.....

Armagnac is gone but not forgotten....

Unfortunately, the Armagnac leather of 2007 Espresso Edition on the S class was discontinued in 2008. We now can get a more neutral 'Sand' leather, which is nowhere as rich a color as the more vibrant Armagnac. The wood remains the same and is quite attractive. The black carpeting and lower black leather panels remain intact on these Designo editions and are very well 'color coordinated' for the total look intended. The package is still striking, but now as much as in the '07 Espresso Edition. I looked everywhere for a used '07 S600 Espresso when I was in the market last fall for a car. One was available from a private party in Illinois but the price was unrealistically high. I finally settled for a black CL600 with the optional Cognac interior. It is not a Designo edition but it looks exactly as one, for all practical purposes. Still, I would have preferred Armagnac over Cognac (the latter is darker) for a 'richer' looking interior. All matter of personal taste. And to answer the OP question, the interior on the CL65 would have looked like the '08 S550 or S600 Espresso Edition but with the 'codgerly' quilted stitching that WSH 'likes' so much and with AMG seats.
