any way to get a better 60' launch
#2
you didnt tell us which model you have. But I have found on my S65 that when i want to keep wheel spin to a minimum...i just lift the hood and start unplugging wires...that usually slows things down a bit so i dont get too much spin. You know my biturbo V12 is kind of strong!
just kidding.
just kidding.

That
needs to be solved before you can plan on getting your 60ft. times down.
What do you mean down on power? What rim and tire size?Drag radials?
engine misfires?

I am curious myself. I have an S63 and feel like i get too much tire spin when trying to really get on it. I drive with traction off because it is less annoying when tires spin. anyway to maximize my takeoffs? thanks in advance bsmooth

Downshift rather than simply takeoff in D.
The tire spinning can be fun but it is avoidable. Get a softer R comp tire like the Toyo T1-R or Pilot Sport Cup

Tire size
Are you going to the track enough to warrant using drag radials? If so get some
rims and tires, you are running 265/40/18's get a set of regular S rims in 17's just for the rear ,leave your fronts the size you have.put 265/45/17 drag radials on the 17 inch rims.Install them at the track. or the day you go to the track.
The tires are going to be the same diameter but the sidewall height is going to be taller. The tire will squat more and absorb some of that wheel spin.
Are you power braking or mashing the throttle off the line from idle?
With all that torque coming down low on the power curve, leave from idle and stage shallow, very shallow.Leave on the last amber and practice, practice, practice.Torque aside remember you are trying to move over two tons off the line and do it as quick as possible in the first 60 ft.After that I figure you are running some good trap speeds on the top end and losing races with the slow 60ft and poor ET.

They are NOT r-comp tires. You must be confusing them with the RA-1

These are their R-comps:

I've been running these tires for 2 years, Juicee. I think I can read a sidewall.
