Question Tires for my 65??

Looking for some suggestions on tires for my '06 65. I think my options are relatively limited due to the recommended load ratings- 98Y front and 100Y rear. Corner carving obviously not on my list of "to-do's", but I am looking for a sticky straight line performance tire. Mileage not a huge concern either- just looking to hook up in 1st.

Thanks in advance for any input

Hi, I bought my CL65 with Michelin PS2 on the front and Michelin PS1 on the
back. I changed the back to PS2's much better grip esp in wet conditions.
I was so impressed I put PS2's all round on my 600. They are expensive though, but you get what you pay for!!

Actually, I just ordered a set of PS2's. Seems they're a bit difficult to come by- Tire Rack has a 2 week wait for them and Discount Tire had a week. I should have them by next Wednesday. I'm curious as to how the traction on the PS2's will compare to that of my current PS A/S (All Season) tire. I can't believe the dealership put on an all-season tire to CPO the car

The traction improved when I went from the original PS1s to PS2s. I can only imagine the difference from A/S will be dramatic.

As long as the road is dry, I have minimal traction problems. With a little bit of restraint for the first split-second, followed by pedal-to-the-metal, launch is easier in the S65 than with my wife's C55. I hear that the W221 S65 has much more trouble on launch. The PS2s should be very satisfactory.

If the road is wet, you shouldn't be racing.

Do the ps2s chirp?

Ever make a quick left turn and hear the rubber squeal a bit?
My S 600 reminds me of some of those old 454 hp. cars of the sixties in that regard.
Do the Michelins chirp like that as well? If not then it seems like the best choice...

I have to work very hard to make any noises. Unless the road is rough and I floor it from a standstill, I wouldn't expect any chirps. But that's not an intelligent thing to do with 738 ft-lbs anyway.

I'd recommend a four-wheel alignment at the dealer when you replace tires next, and the PS2s would be a good choice.
