s55 vs e55

I figured I would share some info and maybe get some feed back. I own a 2003 s55 with renntech headers, 6 inch pully, ecu and kn filters. A friend has a stock 2005 e55. We have race several times and can't beat hit him even with all the upgrades. We both had are cars on the dyno today.

2003 s55 dyno 429 rwhp with upgrades
2005 e55 dyno 405 rwhp stock

My questions are:

Why is it i only have 429 rwhp with all my upgrades?
Is there anything else i can do that would really make a diffirence?
How can the e55 specs say 469 hp and it still beat me?

Note: The owner of the e55 is really hard on his car. Infact The the car is a lease and has has beat the **** out of it since it was new. and I do mean beat it. all ways in the throttle ever where he go's. It now has 31k miles on it. Do you think that would make the diffirence?

With those upgrades, you SHOULD be making more around 450-470RWH. You have not listed the tuner companies involved, so I cannot comment further. A LOT may be the ECU tune or the inevitable bad IC pump.

His E55 should be making around 410-420RWH stock...so his is a bit underpowered also.

Keep in mind that the E55 is lighter than the S55 also.

The ecu is also renntech. i had it done by powerchip last year and it went better but the car would not idle properly. allways up and down till it would stall. i sent it back and forth about 3 times with them reprograming it. but they could never fix the idle issue

How would i know if i ahve bad IC pump?
And what is IC pump?

Timeless, nice ride! Did the 10* IC mod help out alot? My s55 runs good on the gage but hotter than Haities when you open the drivers door. Also did you look at the EVO Headers to compare? thanks. Assuming you left the rest AMG Exhaust in place!??

Not sure who you are talking to past the first question...as I have stock headers.

I am not sure how much anything I had done helps as I did not do a before and after dyno/track test.

What I DO know is the car is quick and pulled 440rwhp on a third gear dyno run in 75* conditions. Neither the dyno tech or myself realized that 4th gear was the correct gear until I came home and read it on here.

I am certain that a 4th gear dyno would be higher.

Weight is really a showstopper. And perhaps the gear ratio's of an E55 and S55 are different?

Weight wise the S is heavier but with the mods you have you should still have a edge. The E55 dynos have been on par with the SL, S and CL so HP wise they all are making the same power. With that said you should be in the 450 rwhp+. Its not possible to have a car with a stage 2 and putting down that power. You need to datalog the car to see if the intercooler pump is not working. That could be one of the reasons. Good luck.
