Dyno numbers from my S65 inside.......

Finally had a chance to dyno my W220 S65 today- Car is 100% stock and has 34k miles on it. The first pull was obviously the best.....but the car was not cold by any means. I drove 30 min from work during lunch, waited about 20 min on the dyno and made a pull...we got 530....2nd pull immediately afterward was 505 (car was hot) and then we shut it off for about 10 min and made the third pull.....519. The car would not stay in 4th during the pulls when in manual mode....it kept downshifting once under WOT. You'll hear it (and see it) in the video below. The dyno had no optical pick up so we weren't able to get a torque reading (where the V-12 really shines) but thought it couldn't hurt to see how she did in the HP category. Keep in mind when reading the dyno graph your looking at the 4th gear portion of the pull only.

There we two guys watching who were completely baffled when they saw the numbers...."what? What is that?? Is it stock?? No way".....etc. The shop owner told me it's the highest rwhp of any stock car he's ever had on the dyno .....and he's had all kinds of cars in there. I'm pretty happy with the results.....but I'd like to do it again with the car cold.....or atleast "cool"

My brother (housclass on this forum) and I plan on going to a local dyno asap and putting his 220 S600 and my S65 on the same dyno, the same day to get a real-world comparison. We'll let you know how it turns out

Man, this is still the best purchase I've ever made.........

WOW! nice #s for bone stock. at 15% drivetrain loss, 530 hp = 622 and 505 = 594. At 20% loss, 530 = 662 and 505 = 631 hp! I think MB might have underrated it at 604hp. Put a Renntech tune on it and see if u can really impress the shop owner.

I've always heard about 18% drivetrain loss.

Busa196:

Glad to see that you got yours on the dyno. Your car isn't shifting (at least 2 of your runs)...it is hitting the 250kmh (156mph) speed limiter. That is why most 600/65's (and stock ECU) dyno in 3rd gear to get a full run. Nice results!!!
