Cost for a new ballast? for S55
Hey all.
So I made a mistake. I thought it would be cool if I put in some 8000K lights in my 2003 S55 that I got off ebay. Well not such a good idea. Some how one side didn't seat right so it melted the bulb base and the ignitor not the ballast. So now I will be going to the dealer I think and having them replace both the lights and the one ballast. Any ballpark idea on the cost? Thanks for any help.

I had that happen once, but it wasnt due to Ebay bulbs.
It was due to not having any bulbs in the balast and turning on the xenon headlamps.

Yea I am pretty sure it wasn't seated right on the bulb, either my error or a defective bulb who knows. I do know I do not plan on doing this again. I am going to have the dealer replace the igintor and bulbs so I don't F it up again. I am sure this will be an expensive lesson learned!
