i found it last night and the highest was up to $43k and climbing - don't know the last bid, or if it hit reserve.
my friend was kind of interested...but wished it were closer to go check out the car.
either way, there are still many out there. with 2005 CL65's in the $40k's...i imagine the S65's may not be too far behind?

Wow, I don't know what to say with that. I think I would've bought it on principal alone, practically irregardless of the status of the car. From $185K to $38K? You'd be hardpressed to find that anywhere else.

It's been on there for a while. The price on that one did seem questionable as there was another on there with 50k+ miles with a buy it now of $52k. Then there are a few with 25-35k miles for upper $55's. Still a fantastic price. Only thing I worry about, it how long those turbos last. I'm sure replacing those or just a regular A maintenance might be pretty pricey.

in terms of just replacing the turbos, i wouldn't even bother taking it to the dealer.
rebuilding a turbo costs like $100 each ($50 even if you know the right diesel turbo repair shop), the labor is a lot more... probably looking at about $1000-$1500 total to get your turbos rebuilt and re-installed. at that point, i would also look into trying to fit a bit bigger turbos even.

To replace a turbo on a V12 the engine has to come out........that's where the labour is (Charge time of 20-25hrs for both turbo's R/R).
The turbo's aren't universal either, the housing is cast as part of the exhaust manifold.

...or wait a bit longer and get a 2007 S65 for a few bucks more. If only I knew what the price of a 2007 S65 will be a year from now..
