11.54 as per Dragtimes, our member Busa196 ran it in his bone stock car, only thing added for extra traction was drag radials(he now has a tune so the number will go even lower ). Another guy got 11.975 with the street tires that come with the car. A good launch can get you in high 11s. Low 12s should easily be there.

As for tuned S65 times times, Roger Ver's 100 octane Renntech tuned on drag radials S65 did 11.069, listed as the quickest S65 so far.

Lately quite a few V12 BiTurbo guys got tunes so new track times should be coming since the weather is getting cooler.

Btw, how would you compare the S55 vs. S65 and how would you compare the SL55 vs. S65. Since you owned all three, I look forward to hear your impressions on all 3 and how they compare in driving. Thanks again.

Hey thanks for the response cant wait to take it to the track. My first mercedes was the s55 and i loved it! Drive was amazing but i wanted to get something that would turn heads so i got the sl55. Sure did turn heads but wasnt happy with it. Ride was bumpy ( had 20" brabus vi rims) interior just wasnt me (to small) 2 seater just didnt suite me so i switched back to an s class. Got lucky and got an s65. AMAZING car lol. imo the s65 is the king of amgs. big, luxurious, quite super fast and knowing i can beat some lambos and feraris in this 4 door is a great feeling! Btw If i had the money i would have kept the sl55 as a weekend car and the 65 my daily driver but im only 19 dont got the kind of money like most of the people on this site loll

11s no problem, just make sure rear meats are in god cond. and you roll onto the throttle rather than stomp it from the lights....congrats on the ride but drive safely as 600bhp is a lot for anyone let alone a 19yr old....just ignore ppl that try and race you as you have nothing to prove with a twin turbo V12 under the hood...

I'm sure with a proper launch, you can get mid 12's no problem. (12.50-12.90)
Only problem would be street tires. Keep in mind, do not be disappointed if you can hit 11's.
Our cars weigh almost 4800/b, unless we go on a diet, don't be too disappointed.
Good luck and most of all, drive safe, and have fun!

+1, modded ones are in the 11s BUT most of the 'stock" ones are about 12s range at 118?? Its a very heavy car with lots of HP and torque!!

I will not say where you SHOULD go to get an ECU tune. But I would advise you to do more research before going into any tuning. Lets just say I read A LOT of material before going into tuning for the s55. I ended going for Power Chip, and let me tell you, these guys are so knowledgeable about Mercedes. Actually, SO knowledgeable, they probably know more than some of the people who work at the dealerships.

So all I'm going to say is, please do the research before you jump into anything. And I'm glad, I went for Power Chip! So good luck to you, and if you have any other questions I'll be more than happy to help you, just PM me!

Well respected post, although I can understand why he's leaning towards LET, their V12 TT results for 600 and 65 cars are insane, they tuned an S65 (Busa's) that went from 532rwhp 669rwtq baseline ( 650hp 815ft-lbs) to a staggering 583rwhp/842rwtq (711hp 1027ft-lbs of torque), Busa ran 11.54 stock with drag radials and now he should drop even lower. One thing to note is that air/fuel ratios are spot on, a good tune not only creates power and torque throughout the rev range but it also keeps the fuel in safety limits for reliablity/engine safety. Camdon with his SL65 is currently in process of getting a custom tune from them as well and he is aiming for 10s at the strip.

Remember the TCU has torque limiting to it, boost is tapered down at shifts. Still though it should wear it down quite abit, only way to know is what feedback Busa gives us down the road. The 5-speed itself deals with 738ft-lbs+ out the factory, that alone is a revelation in its own. I say it and many will agree, nothing makes power out the factory and gains so much with just a tune like the V12 BiTurbo, with the exception of the Veyron of cours. That's what Doctor V8 stated and I agree as well, his SL65 Black Series did 580rwhp 700rwtq stock out the factory, find another car fully unmodified/stock that will put down those kind of figures. I can't wait to see what Camdon's car puts down on the rollers and more importantly the 1/4 mile.

Ah NOT after LET gets in there my friend

How do you think they can put down those numbers on a dyno if there was ANY TQ limiter left

Trust me, as I have one of their tunes

Great point in which I overlooked as it does make sense to take that out to make the extra torque and keep boost steady. I don't even think it's fair to have a big car like the S class smoke 95% of other cars on the road. What kind of numbers yours put down?

It was posted on the W220 section, close to 450RWHP and almost 700 TQ

Couldn't be happier if I tried

Over a 1000 miles now, and yes even an autocross which I REALLY had fun at. I'll hit the drags this weekend at Beaverun on the 10th. It's VERY hard to beleive, but this PIG does handle VERY well, aka NO body roll thanks to the ABC, and I had a VERY strong posting. PM for results, long story.
