A couple of S65 Questions: Brakes + Wind Noise

Hi guys, this is my first MB and I must say I am thrilled. I am no stranger to nice sport sedans/cars but this takes the cake. It is not the best handling car and it is rather huge, but everything else, from the many little conveniences to comfort to the power to the stopping power more than make up for it to me.

Now I have had a relatively short time to spend with my particular car but two things are on my mind that I figured I should ask:

1. The brakes squeal like a pig being slaughtered. Is this normal?
2. Above 140 mph, there is what appears to be a noticeable wind leak somewhere behind me (most likely the door). Is this normal? I don’t remember the BMWs having this but my Jag S-Type R develops the same type of leak at around 130. Of course these speeds were tested in Mexico on a straight closed course.
3. As far as the engine burning oil - how do I monitor this best so I dont end up with less oil than needed.

I am sure I will have a ton more questions but figured I would start here.

Thanks.

P.S. This all pertains to a w220 2006 model.

1. yeah, they make some noise. Try going out and doing 5 or 6 really hard stops from about 75 to about 5mph. Then go home and let the brakes cool overnight. Also try cleaning the brake dust outta the rotors and caliper area with some high pressure sprays of water.

2. Check the door and window seal. I've never experienced this, but my S500 is limited to 130.

3. My m113 doesn't burn any oil, but I know the car will pop up a warning if the car is significantly short on oil. That said, I would attempt to buy a dipstick and use that. The 65 motors are known to chew through some oil, so definitely keep an eye on it.

When oil is needed the engine should ask for it itself through the instrument cluster, and politely too (please add such-and-so amount of oil at next service station). If you want to be safe keep some quarts nearby.

The brakes. Wel yes, that's a well known issue when these AMGs are driven (and braked) hard. To really solve this you have to either sand the pads down a tad, or get pads that don't develop this behaviour. I personally stopped paying attention to this sound.

The wind leak thing. My experience is that there is always a leak somewhere with these MBs. Around 155 they start developping, and around 180/190 you almost get sucked outside through the seams. Perhaps a new rubber in the door that starts suckig air may help get a few MPH more without that vacuum happening.
