Took delivery of my 03 S55 yesterday
Tectite grey, ash interior. Only options I got are remote keyless entry, tire pressure monitor. Traded in a 2000 S430.
Early observations:
Handling is WAY better than the 430. Exit ramp on my way home that i could barely keep it on the road at 55mph I can breeze through at 70 without a sweat, ABC is amazing.
The front seats are the whip. Not sure if i like the "drive dynamic" feature yet, but the adjustments, heating and cooling are awesome.
The new COMAND system is a big improvement, much easier to use.
Can't wait to get 1000 miles on it so I can see how quick it is. I'll post again after I hit it.

I'll take some pics this weekend if the weather cooperates.
Price was $111,800. 36 month lease, 15,000 mi per year, $10,000 down, payment including tax of $1,600 per month.
Haven't even considered mods - suggestions?

I did the Lorinser LM-5s on 20" Pole Positions.
Also both the Lorinser rear window and deck spoilers. They look awesome-highly recommended.
You'll love the seats- wish they had some type of indicator on dash so you don't have to be a contortionist to see if the Drive Dynamics are on.
After 1000 miles the engine sound becomes even more pronounced and deep. When I start it up, the neighborhood knows!

In New York, I just leased a 2003 S500 w/ Parktronic, S3, CD, and Wood package. Paid $83,815. Residual is 58. Payment is $1,374 INCLUDING TAXES.
Residual will drop each month.

When you lease a car, the residual is the % of the sales price that the BANK is responsible for. So, the HIGHER the residual, the LESS you pay each month. For example, is the sales price is $100,000, and the residual is 70, and the lease term is 39 months, than YOU are paying for roughly 30% of the vehicle over 39 months plus interest.
Each quarter, the residual rates DROP. When a car first hits the market, the residuals are the highest. Sometimes, the BANK, not the dealer, will offer a program or rebate.

Congrats on the new S55 ride. VERY nice car and perfect color. One thing I haven't yet seen in this post was the value of the '00 S430 you traded in? And what kind of miles did it have on it when you traded it?

its a beautiful car. i test drove one at the dealer and i fell in love. but if i were you guys if you were getting any new mercs soon, wait till the fall. there making a 7speed automatic standard in there top models which is unbeileavable.
