Just purchased 2006 S65
Just purchased a 2006 S65. It is a great car and very smooth. Not all that different than my 2003 S600 but subtle differences. Not sure about performance yet but it feels strong. I would bet mid/high 11's depending upon weather conditions. The car is Black/Java with chestnut wood with 27K miles. Renntech ECU/TCU upgrade at some point.

I hope you really enjoy the car I have a 2006 S65 Bordeaux/Java and still like the Java interior. Very rare S65 color. I drive an SL600 as my daily commuter, the S65 is definitely faster even though it is about 500 pounds heavier. It is a challenge to keep the speed even close to legal on the road.

and general comfort compared with the 600. I know it's going to be quicker
I just want the ride and comfort details.

Comfort is identical to the s600. Exhaust is throatier and seats have amg stitched in the seatback. The ride isn't any different even with the shorter sidewalls of the 19" tires. Drive dynamic seats are cool and possibly a little gimmicky. You won't be disappointed with the s65.
