Well I decided to crawl my *** under the car yesterday and finally replace my fuel filter. Well it was pretty easy really and I am glad I did it. The date code on the filter was from January 2003 so this filter was the original. I was a bit surprised myself.

I recently changed my fuel filter too, it was from 2000 and had 120k miles! Still was not bad, actually. Always used 93.

Since you changed yours, any additional info will be helpful.
Did you pinch the fuel lines before removing the old filter, to avoid gasoline spilling? Also, did you jack up the car to get to the filter or raising the car was not needed.
Thanks.

What I did was drive the drivers side rear tire up a small ramp so I could reach under better. I didn't pinch the lines either. Just got a large pan and opened the lines VERY carefully and let the gas drip into the pan. Then did the change with new clamps don't forget. Hope this helps. I did a search and there was a nice DYI on the filter change as well.Originally Posted by Corsa9000
