Mercedes S55 AMG
Actually, that is a real S55 AMG.
It is a 2001 S55 AMG, the 2001 and 2002 models have only dual exhaust as opposed to quad exhaust which came in 2003.
There are a few ways you can tell this is a real 2001 S55, and I own one so I'd know:
First, someone changed the stock rims. These are not the original S55 AMG rims, which are monoblocks. But changing the rims does not mean it is not an S55.
1.) It says "AMG" in the tach. The 2001/2002 AMG S55's have this there.
2.) The dual exhaust, exactly like the 2001/2002 S55
3.) The Engine cover also has "AMG" on it. The 2001 engine cover is not the same as the 2003, and is not signed. It looks like an S500 cover with AMG on it, but it's legit.
4.) It says "AMG" in the door sills on all 4 sides.
So, most of these facts can be observed in the pictures save the door sills which were not shown in pictures, but are there.
It is a real S55 AMG - albeit it a 2001 version that is slightly different, everything is 100% consistent with a real S55.
