Hi all I am new to the forum.

I have been looking for a s65 for the past year at least.

Now seeing what each year came with or was options makes it hard to decide.
And now the prices makes it even harder.
In the end its worth what some one is willing to pay even if its to much.

Nothing wrong with 06 & blow. But Im looking at 07 up.

This is just what I have found and would love some input.
As I am still looking and trying to decide.

James - I bought an '08 a few weeks ago and like you put together an Excel spreadsheet and tracked all the cars for sale. I have the spreadsheet at my office and could send if you want although it's probably 3 weeks or so out of date now. I noticed that on average prices were about $15K different for each year, although obviously they vary greatly. Those Renntechs at that one dealer all seem overpriced so I left them out of my analysis. Large selection of '07's relative to the '08's and newer. Didn't see the value in an '09 vs '08 as they are basically the same except maybe nav/BT (not sure). Many are black which I didn't want was the other factor. These cars need to find the right buyer so some dealers may not be able to move them and a deal can be had; but, if you wait for the perfect price you may wait forever. I found the exact car I wanted and pulled the trigger after about 2 months.

I wanted an '08 over the '07 to get the diamond stitching. I also wanted rear heat/cool and pano which some '07s didn't have. I think the '08's came with a few things which were options in '07 but standard in '08. Some also had a different rear armrest without the wood and controls which I wanted. Thought as long as I was spending the money might as well get what I want.

I paid $85K for 32K miles and the car is like new. I am super-detailed and other than replacing one piece of trim, this car is like new. They also gave me above market for my 210,000 mile trade-in (S500) so I felt great about the deal. Car is sweet - leather is awesome, handling, shifting, acceleration, exhaust awesome. So much different than my marshmallow S500!

2007 vs 2008
The screen has video.
Cross stitching

2009 seems to be the 2008.

2010
Center console is wood not leather Standard
Rear headrest video entertainment Standard
Front bumper is new with led fog lights, led headlights, lED taillights.

2010-2011 same
2011 has option for bang & olufsen speakers.
2012 comes with bang & olufsen Standard.

I don't know if I'm missing anything else so every one let us know what u know.

you can update telematics on 2007 to get video (and other options). that's not a good way to distinguish between 07 and other years

I for got to bring up that I see the 2011 did not have bluetooth streaming audio.
In less you add the interface thing.
To me that does not seem right when I rent a 2010 E and it has bluetooth streaming audio.

Something I was thinking about and could not find any info.

I think lane assist and active blind spot are 09. Split view came with the face lift, in 2010.
