I was reading the soft close issues, and it would seam the main response is about $500. Well that may be what i end up doing as well but I didn't see my situation in the ones I found here.

See, my trunk goes up just fine by all means of lift (open button inside, on trunk, on fob), but what is happening is when I hit the red close button sometimes, it goes down soooooooooo slooooooooow, again not an issue because is does go all the way down and latches, but then the strangest thing happens. You know that quick pause then the motor pulls the trunk seating it, yeah mine suddenly tries to open back up. Well the latch has taken, so it is lifting while latched, and tell me that's good for it . I have to quickly hit the open button again which sends the trunk up in the air all the way again. I have come to realize that when it's going to do that, is when it closes slow. If it drops down fast when I hit the close, it latches and seats fine . Its like by it closing slow maybe it thinks that it closed itself and tries to reopen, only when it sits for 20 min. it will close itself and it doesn't do that.

Is it possible it needs (if possible) to be topped off with fluid? If it comes down to it, I don't have the 5 easy to put into a stupid trunk, as I had a much weaker spring than anticipated, and my trunk lid falls on the bottom of the priority list. Now I have one more questions that I have not figured out on my own. Beeeeeecause I was lazy and didn't feel like looking hard. Can one of you kind gents fill me in on the garage thing and how to use (fill) it up? I have some fine images of a black on black ess five five aye em gee which I love to drive and hate to own .
