Pics aren't the best, but look like it sits as high as mine. I'm about to get those links. Hopefully I'll have the money next week. Wheels look great though! I've wanted those wheels forever..Can we can some better pics? I think the sun was at the wrong height in the sky.

I don't think I'll be getting wheels till next year. I'm gonna go all out so it's gonna take me a while :-(

The AMS pulley is for N/A 5.5L. Not for our supercharged engines. Sorry to hear about the wheels...They look amazing on E55s though. I went ahead and ordered the lowering links. $161 from UK. I'll take pics when they get here and after I install them.

I think it's a lot cheaper with buying links. I'm not 100% sure how the software works, but I'll now more about the links when they come. The links lower it.

For sure too high. Throw some links on her and get her sitting a little closer to the ground. The links cost me about 170 shipped fro the UK.....great people to do business with. Lowermyairride.co.uk check them out.

looks good, but yes needs to come down somewhat

FWIW... my OE size tires on my 600 scrub the plastic inner wheel liners slightly after link-install (also the UK lowermyairride ones - dumb name, good service, great product/price!)

happens under hard cornering and a bump is introduced - and I only 'somewhat' lowered mine (not too aggressively whatsoever)

doesn't happen often, but it happens

also

my inner front tires are also wearing notably due to the increased camber, as are my outer front shoulders due to the increased cornering propensity afforded by said negative camber as well as the lower center of gravity 8-)

the tire wear sucks but the added handling makes it worth it 8-) Turn-in is improved, understeer dialed out some, no longer seems confused while on-center (used to want to 'dart' somewhat left/right when going straight - was annoying)

I'm shocked at the scrub, considering how many slammed hoopties I see on this site, many of those with ginormous cartoonish 29000" wheels or whatever - must be rub friggin city for those guys!!!

I'm bummed as I was looking forward to running 275's all around w/ next tire purchase

Damn! Why are you guys just now coming out with this information? I just ordered mine yesterday. Well hopefully mine won't rub, and wearing the tires isn't exactly what I want either. Well hopefully my car will be totally fine.. jk

Sorry dude, wasn't immediately aware of the liner scrub and once I knew I heard 'something' it took awhile before I could verify it.

And then, tire wear isn't exactly immediate either silly 8-).

I've lowered ever car I've ever owned, sorry I figured it was sorta common knowledge that lowering a car increased negative camber and - hence - tire wear 8-/.

Regardless... the handling improvements are kindasorta worth it IMO... damn pig needed a little help in that arena IMfurtherO heh heh...

Not to mention, the car simply looks sooooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuch daaaaaaaaamn betterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!

enjoy!

Well post some pics if it's lowered. Hopefully I get mine soon. How long did it take to get yours? Do you remember?

I love how mine handles for such a big car, but always up for improving it.

I was only joking before.

I did post pics when installed them, on the W220 SNOOZE BOARD, to the sound of crickets (this place ain't much better!)

hard to tell from these shots, remember I did not slam it - but it's a huge difference from before:

remember, I'm no fan of the ghettohooptie slammed look, I don't want to eff up the ride quality (it's nominally stiffer now which is good), and I use the car daily with kids / crap in trunk so lower is dumb

to me, it sits juuuuuuuuust riiiiiiiiiiiiight 8-)

forget how long it took - maybe a week? was pretty quick...

Yes, it is over there, and your right not much better here...but I'm over here occasionally. I try to keep it alive now...

It's look good to me. Want to switch rides? You'd never notice

Yea, I didn't even want to do this since I don't want to mess with the suspension in fear for messing something up and costing me. This will be all I do though.

It sounds like you can adjust it than? I haven't seen pics of the actual links so I have no idea what they are and do..haha...I hope it's pretty straight forward.

both places suck IMO 8-)

shame

anywho, lowering it isn't going to do anything to your system so no worries there

yes, they are nearly infinitely adjustable - it's just a set of different length threaded rods that you swap the OE's out for

you dial the ball sockets on each end according to what ride height you want (major trial / error, and note you go in opposite directions for front / rear... don't worry, it's explained in the instructions)

rears can be done by reaching in w/ car sitting on ground, fronts just need to jack high enough to reach your arm over the tire

setting the height is what takes TIME - removing the OE one's is a BIATCH b/c the ball sockets are TIGHT... but they pop right off

new ones on / off is like flicking a bra strap - takes but a second

Oh ok, so I can adjust them...that great. Not to thrilled about dialing in the height since I'm very ****. I'll figure it out I'm sure.

Yea, I think it has a lot to do with how many of these cars are out there. Also the S Class is def an older person car, and I'm sure many people at this age are the most computer savvy. So with that in mind I think that has a lot to do with why the W220 forum is dead, and as far as S class AMG's, there just aren't many. I know I'm the only one in my area, and I've seen 2 E55's. This is saying a lot. Guess if we want a more active sub forum then we should get W211 E55s.

Oh well!
