S63 slow / late manual shifting
I currently have a '08 S63. Recently owed a 2007 SL55. One thing I have noticed with both cars, they disappoint me on shifting with paddle shifters in manual or sport mode.
When under maximum acceleration shifting (floored all out) must be done at SEVERAL hundred RPM before you want it to shift, otherwise the engine will redline and hit the rev limiter. Basically, the transmission does not instantly react to the shift imput from driver.
I am comparing this to my experiences of modified GM products over the years that SHIFT when a shift command is sent to the tranny.
Is there an aftermarket mod that makes the trans more responsive to paddle input? Or do I have to have just shift early and wait for the trans to keep up?
Any input from other owners?

some people say that a TCU tune fixes this issue. I got a TCU tune on my car and the delay is still there. I think that's just something you have to live with... if you're wanting fastest acceleration possible, then leave it in S-Auto and put your foot down.

agreed. I have another thread on this in S63 sub-forum here and car is going to dealer, to review solenoids, adaptations and whatever else we can find. I will report back my experience of this issue and hopefully the resolution shortly.

Update!
After 3 weeks, I am happy to say that we have discovered the problem on my '08 S63. Turns out, I was lucky enough to get my mechanic to confirm that my car has been neglected. The firmware was behind since 2008 and gear adaptations had to be re-done.
