Coolant leak found. Has anyone had this fixed?

So after seeing coolant on the ground for a week I finally had the opportunity to diagnose it. I pressure tested my intercooler system and there was no drop in pressure. Then I tested the engine cooling system and saw a small drop in pressure. I knew it was coming from the drivers side so I took the airbox out and the turbo out let tube and found it! Appears to be a hard coolant line going into the top of the turbo.
I removed the bolts holding them and can get them out. I think I need to remove the coil pack to get clearance. I imagine there is an o-ring that needs to be replaced.
Anyone experience this?

I have the same issue. Dealer and my Indy say MB does not offer just the seal...and must replace the entire turbo....at $4200 per side (parts only, no labor) What a bunch of bull s@!t. I would be VERY interested in your repair results.

WOW wtf, they want you to replace the whole turbo when a seal goes out.... well replacing just a seal shouldn't be hard to do yourself

Coming along, but a total pain in the ***!! Had to remove the coil, unbolt the intercooler hard line, and bend the heat shield. Only to find that if doesn't appear to be just an o-ring, getting the part from the dealer tomorrow I hope so I can finish this nightmare.

This just happened to me. It was the passenger side turbo hose that was leaking coolant. I had it diagnosed by the dealer who said that all i needed to replace were the same parts as richvegas. Total labour is estimated at about 3 hours. I asked the tech if coil packs were removed and he said no. It looks like it was relatively straight forward, at least on the sl600 (2005).

only 3 hours of labor is generous. i know taking out the coils was necessary on mine.

Nice work. Good to see some actual wrenching going on here. Considering getting into a W220 S55 myself - literally drooling thinking about owning one...

I actually went into the garage and thw mechanic showed me what he had done since the same thing happened on an s600 that he was working on at the time. They ended up doing both sides on mine so the total labour was 6 hours. The s class he was working on was a 2007. My sl600 is a 2005.

damn
This is so cool to see I just got my 07’ S65 and I noticed like once every other week I get a refill coolant alert on the dash on cold start. It’s only got 69k miles so I’m worried there’s tons of **** I’m gonna have fall on me to repair😩

I got to do this for my 222 S-65. Passenger side. O-rings for coolant lines. Pretty easy. I used a piece of Brillo pad to polish up sealing surface the o-ring fits to. Clean up with water. Worked well. Two hours start to finish.
