S55 in its natural habitat...
no, not really. Honestly it isn't too bad in the snow.
The tires are 245/45 Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 on my 2004 S55. This is the second winter with them and they have been great. They are very quiet, very smooth, have pretty good dry traction, and work very well in rain, slush, and light snow. They don't do too well in deep snow (compared to studless ice and snow tires) but I expected that when choosing performance winter tires.

Glad to hear you are able to use it in the snow. Looks like you get too much where you live too! I can see why now on the new AMG's they are making them with 4Matic. This goes to show you a great set of snow tires sometimes does just fine

I just got to Florida before all the snow up north. The crazy part is I'm in Florida with my S55 shod with snow tires. I'm afraid I'll need them when I go back north in the middle of January.
