2011 Mercedes S65 w Wald Black Bison body kit, ADV1 wheels &more from GMP Performance
This S65 came us to us with plans of a major style boost with a Wald Black Bison aero kit and some ADV.1 wheels, and a power upgrade courtesy of an EVOMSit software upgrade. What we didn't expect was when it ended up getting a bonus of a new exhaust tone too! Thanks to the Black Bison's tips not bolting directly to the mufflers, we fabricated a new solution to give the S65 a beautiful sound, while resolving the fitment issue.

The Build
Mercedes S65 Exhaust Fabrication
The Black Bison aero kit is designed with a custom set of exhaust tips. The S65 had mufflers with dual outlet tips and will not directly bolt-up to the Black Bison Kit's exhaust tips. We removed the exhaust mufflers to look into fabricating a solution but once we did, a cool thing happened.
With the mufflers off the car, we couldn't resist testing the sound of a freer flowing twin turbo V12 engine. It turned out that the note was both beautiful sounding and plenty quiet so we simply replaced the mufflers with 3" mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing.
Here you can see the gap between where the muffler was removed and the tip that we will be filling with 304 stainless steel tubing.
